You can get a 2g for $1500?

How do they perform compared to the 1g? I've fallen in love with the torque the 1g has and would miss it so much if the 2g didn't compare.

that sucks man. but if the radiator didn't mess up and you can still run it i think it's worth fixing. same thing happened to me on the highway except it was an accord i hit. either way, including and awesome new paint job (laguna blue pearl) and straightening of the front and a new hood (which is why i painted it) and fixing my manifold cause a screw broke i spent a total of 1200 dollars fixing it. i'm happy with it. no one with a 1988 mx-6 has my color. i love it.

That sounds sweet! Post a picture of your 6. I'd love to see what it looks like in that color.

Today, we bought a brand new oem hood. $140 I think is what it came to. They claimed it was the last one on this side of the US or something haha. I think almost everything else is salvageable though. Probably going to start tearing it apart this weekend. Most likely will be making a project thread on it, if anyone cares that is.

So I just figured out everything with insurance for how much money I'm going to get. After deductibles, and salvage costs, they're dishing me a check for around 2grand. I have no clue how it happened, but my dad said he talked them way up on it. It has a new clutch, gas tank, cv joints, and a couple other things.

I'm very happy. This opens up a brand new door for cars I can look at as replacements and stuff.

So are you gonna fix it or get something else? Didn't you just buy a new hood?

We just bought a new hood, yes. But we were told that we can return it as long as its not painted and has the original packaging. I think at this point, if I can find a GT somewhere within 300 miles of here I would buy that, but a rebuild is what seems to be most likely right now. I wouldn't feel right buying a new 6 without takin it for a test drive and thoroughly inspecting it on my own.

I was looking at celicas and 240s but something didn't seem right. I love my 6 so much haha.

i hadn't thought of putting pictures of it by it sounds like a plan. also, i am on the process of buying this guys red mx-6 just like mine. i'm thinking of restoring it since it's only going to cost me 200 off of the guy. as soon as i get it i will take pictures of them back to back.
