Since Day One.

So i have had my 6 for about a year and a half now. Ive been on this site for the majority of that time, and ive never made a real gallery. Im pretty sure that no one on here knows all that ive done sence i had it. When i bought it, it was basically 100% stock. So ive decided to post a 'timeline' of sorts of everything i have done to it.

Before i get too far into it, i want to clarify:

Yes, i am 17, and still in high school.

I bought the car in november of 06 for 2400. 156k miles.

Yes, it IS my daily driver.

no. i never wash it.

I have payed for EVERYTHING on this car. No help from my parents, so dont give me any of that bull[shizzle]. Ive had a job sence i was 14 and saved every check untill i bought this car. I have way, WAY too much money into this car for a high school student.

I have done 95% of the work on this car on my own. The only things i have not done would be the brakes (it was the 2nd week i had the car. the brakes locked up (as usual on 94's) and i had to go to school. I hadnt dug into the car, so i knew nothing about it. had to get it done. and fast), and the welding on the downpipe/crossmember/pipes for the turbo install. i have done EVERYTHING else.

And yes, there are a LOT of pictures.

feel free to comment on everything and anything i have done. i want everyones input, good or bad.

and, DAY ONE. 20 minutes before buying it. Im so pissed that the door is not shut all the way, since this is the only picture i have of it in the condition i bought it.

and this is all i have of the back. i messed with it in the edit program or whatever and apparently saved it. damnit.

completely stock engine:

my first real "mod",.. that i now regret. halos, FTW at the time, FTL now. and yes, i wired them [shizzle]ty as hell. I dont know. Sometimes i love them, and sometimes i dont.

I never was one for looks, i wanted to go fast! so i started into the engine.
Cleaned the valve cover, K&N cold air intake, and humungus spark plug wires. i seriously thought i was a badass now.

I wanted to be cool. lights in your car make you cool. sike.
another 'mod' that i now regret, a year later.

Boom boom time. The car came with an awesome sony deck. Its wierd, it needs a controller to operate. theres no buttons on the face. The car also had some 3" MTX Tweeters installed in the doors, with some small mtx amps powering them.
12" Alpine Type-R 1242, Kicker 400.1, Sony CDX 850 or something.

MOMO shift knob, leather boot, pedals, and a clear shot of the interior

another,

gotta make it sound good!
i found this Ractive axle back on ebay for 110$ shipped to my door. I told everyone that when i got it if it sounded like [shizzle] it was going in the river.
It fit great, and sounded [fizzle]ing AWESOME for the price. I would HIGHLY reccomend it for anyone with a budget (if you can even find one).
i also started to play with tinting the tail lights. you can see from these pics.

And its even angled! (good shot of the tails)

for some reason i thought i was cool enough for underbodys. i was wrong.
Streetglow LEDs. 7 colors.

i still think thats a badass picture ^

All of this was up untill about april of last year. i only remember because i got the windows tinted during spring break.
Tinted windows, and throw some d's on that bitch.
17" Enkei Sportline rims with Pirelli tires. $500 shipped to my door.

I would say around june or july of 07 i had been watching this seller on ebay list and re list a set of eibachs, and i just said what the hell. Lowered, and i realized i was proud of what i had and what i had done to it.

bored during the winter:

also painted the stock wheels black:

(way later, but good picture with the wheels)

this is basically how it set for the longest (which i guess was only a few months hahaha). untill i realized i was for sure turboing the [fizzle]er.
im sort of mad that i didnt take pictures of the entire process. i gathered all my info, all my parts, and stayed on here 5 hours a day studying all the vets that already have their stuff turboed. i was just amazed.

here is where i'll give credit to those who have influenced me/stick out in my head from the site in my few months here. either by help or by asshole-ness .

sik turk- YER. hahaha. we were pretty much step by step together. and im still the youngest
stealth- your silver 6 with the cf hood was my desktop forever. i started at that big ass intercooler for a few months. awesome car.
goatcrapp- i looked at the one picture ive ever seen of your engine compartment for about an hour straight one day. i couldnt figure out wtf the liquid/air intercooler was. now i know, and it is awesome.
fred- youve helped out a ton with my dumbass questions.
king6- youve also helped a [shizzle] ton, even if you are a jerk alot of the time
jason/evil demon- awesome guy, has helped me with so much [shizzle] that i would have not figured out on my own.

make it go ppsshhh...

the first set up:

prolly the best dowpipe evarrr for 2g turbo setups

didnt idle right, had to move the VAF, which equals custom pipe yo
+ k6f fuse box cover and radiator supports

.......drove all winter like this. in about febuary i decided i should intercool it before it got too hot outside. = challenge....

finding a filter was a bitch.
** and i fixxed all the craptastic wiring!!

and she now takes charge from the rear.

gotta get the gauges up:

Wanted the engine compartment a bit cleaner. Jason helped me with the manifold and valve covers. new gaskets. the story on the mani is this 2 colored was was gonna be the tester to see if i like black or silver. but im too lazy to finish the other one. so its perminient

too bad it wasnt clean:

these wires were rediculous. idk what i was thinking haha.

meeh. i guess its fast enough.
some asshole kicked a big old dent/wrinkle into my stock hood. and i wanted something else for the outside anyways. 02kyle was my hook up on a cf invader hood. it looked like ass when i got it. still dont look great but i did hella work on it.
the day i got it, in columbus, at kyles

after lots of work:

soo. i guess the "finished" product:

and all the randoms:

probe/mx6 meet:

the hell?

my garage. where all the "easier" work gets done.

BONUS POINTS FOR ANYONE WHO CAN TELL ME WHAT THE GREEN BODY IS TO.

and all the hard work. im very good friends with a man who owns a shop called independant honda. he helped a [shizzle] ton with the turbo install and cutting and welding.

let me know what you think.

and i am gonna ask that if you are quoting this, DO NOT quote the entire thing. please find the picture you want and quote just it. thanks.

Awesome progress man! Keep up the great work! I'll join the ranks of the boosted before the end of the year hopefully.

How much boost are you running? What is the est. HP?

My car is going to be the bastard love child of a JDM, ESPEC, and USDM Mx6 threesome.

It's getting there.

heres the boost stages,

started with 4psi non intercooled
intercooled, that dropped to about 2.5/3
got a mbc, now its at 5.5 steady.
ive had it at 8 psi, and some how the stock clutch held it. but it dont wanna burn the thing up past drive ablilty so i brought it back to 5.5.

as for horsepower, i have absolutely no idea. of course i would like to say its got 250 ish, but i would honestly be happy with like 225 to the wheels. hopefully this summer i'll sell enough of my belongings to get some dyno time hahahaha.

Looks nice bro. You seriously need to hit that car with a medium compound and polish/wax it. I'm really digging your fog lights. How did you get them so clean? Also. ditchin the angel eyes would make your car look really nice. Perhaps, polish the A-specs just like you did to the fogs. Keep up the good work.

and there is my [fizzle]ing problem. my dumb dad pitched the A-specs one day without telling me. apparently he needed room in the garage for, uh, oh yeah, not a damn thing.

I think I have a set of A-specs lying around somewhere. I don't know if I have the corner lights though. Did you do any sanding to the fogs?

Ditch the angel eyes and get especs or jspecs...
Paint ur tails all red or get m-editions...
New wheels... even FDs would look sweet...
Get an OEM CF hood...

and ur car is the seks!

Most kids your age would go for all looks. Props on going for speed! even tho kids + fast cars aren't always the greatest combination. Nice work tho man.

Excellent story, I loved going through that slowly. Karma to u

You should post it up just like that on cardomain.

If you keep the angel eyes, grab yourself some clear covers, it will improve the look.

^hahaha. I love how he is telling you to ditch the hood and the rims. Those are two huge investments for a high school kid and then swappin it would be nuts on the wallet.

I think I'll probably be there this weekend man. I'll look forward to seeing it. Too bad I won't be able to come up in the 1g haha.
