I haven't even had my '6 two months and I already had the seller. Nothing to do with the body, the body is mint, but all the mechanical issues.....

Although, whoever ends up buying my Escort will really hate me as it resembles your '6.... although, I clearly state in the ads that it needs work! So people know what they're getting into.

You should really try to find a rust free body to start with. They are a dime a dozen here in the southwestern USA. I have no idea what the cost to import one would be, but it is probably a hell of a lot cheaper than repairing something like that. You guys up north would be shocked to see a 20 year old car with no rust on it.

Currently have two 1988 MX-6 GT 5 speeds, both white, one stock, one not. Also have a big ass Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 Diesel for fun.

Thats what happens from cars that are out east unfortunatley. Thats why they're so cheap.

To answer the thread title, yes I have hated the seller, her name is Heather, and she should be barred from ever spinning a wrench ever again, of in my case; being near a set of wire cutters.

Too bad though, with US pricing, I'd buy a car from the southern states, as they are almost always rust free.

Ive had the same experience but i hate the seller not even a month after, I bought my new talon shell that I am prepping for my engine/trans to be dropped into. the front suspension is crapping out, bad ball joints/tie rod ends have excessive play, missing small components in the engine bay EVERYWHERE. hacked wiring all over inside the car. but it has 84k miles and barely any rust on the underside and the only paint flaw is some mild fade on the driver side of the car right along the window trim and on the hatch..it really is frustrating though. however I am sorry Ive never seen a car rusting out that badly!

I suddenly feel like I dont have it as bad as you do

yea, this car also had a random leak from the firewall which i still cannot track down, had to replace inner and outter tie rods, all 4 endlinks, hand brake is completely fubared (from handle to calipres, all three sections), reverse light switch in tranny is not working (reverse lights don't work, but bulbs are still good), sun roof motor is weak as i have to assist it to open and close the sunroof. Motor burns quite a bit of oil to the point it sometimes catches up with me when i stop and sometimes there is a faint haze behind me ONLY sometimes when i GUN it. lol

Needless to say, this is my last mx6, likely a Cobalt SS turbo or an Si next.

David
