michelin twheel

ok i am not sure if anyone els has seen this but i was was wacthing a show and they show a segment from the north americain auto show. and michelin had come up with this air tire idea call the twheel it look pertty kool. i forgot how it works but it ride like a normaly tire it will not be on the market for like 10 years tho

You don't have to inflate it and provides better lateral stiffness. However they still need a lot of work the ride quality and noise is apparently really bad right now. With work it could be a really cool development though.

well, the wheel is open on the sides to show the technology, even in the test units actually put on cars. i would think the finalized version will have some sort of sidewall. I like the idea though.

It's a well-known survival tip that you should always carry around a length of ethernet or fibre cable when traveling in wilderness areas. If you get hopelessly lost, bury it. Then you can ask the backhoe operator for directions when he cuts through it.

no there is not side wall they should it on a bobcat and there was no side wall that why i think it looks so wire. just think what that would look like on a nice rim.

A sidewall would provide more support, and imagine the gunk that would build up in those spaces. That is definately not the finalized product. Cool idea, I like it.
