So I thought I'd start another HP thread for 2007. This time in the "General Automotive" forum so both 1g's and 2g's can get involved together. These vehicles must be powered by the F2T, FE-DOHC, or KL (of any kind).
Here is what should be listed to go along with it.
Year:
Model:
Power Adder (Turbo, SC, Nitrous):
Current Horsepower:
Current Torque:
Current Boost / Shot Size:
Current 1/4 Mile E/T@mph:
Goal Horsepower:
Goal Torque:
Goal Boost / Shot Size:
Goal 1/4 Mile E/T@mph:
I will keep the first post updated with people's predictions/hopes and what they actually end up dyno'ing as they get closer to that goal. If dyno plots are supplied for current dyno values, I will link them in the table.
good idea on the general forum idea should get some nice KL entries here ;-)
year : 1989
model : ford courier (b2000)
power adder : fe3 + turbo possibly stroker with forgies, or possibly std 9:1 engine cost, time, and availability dependent. boost of 15 - 25psi depending on quite a few factors...
hp : 350 - 500 crank (standing by this) which equates to roughly 300 - 450 whp with 15% loss (please spec crank or wheels, and if wheels, whether stupid corrections will be used ;-) )
torque : 450NM should be achievable, possibly 500 or for fastest : 400nm - 450nm backcalculated from wheel torque and speed vs rpm and power but not measurable without an engine dyno!!
dyno : stock fe3 is circa 140hp and stock ute engine is 79hp both crank figures, no dyno yet. at wheels would be 67hp for stock ute, and 120 for stock fe3.
sorry for mixing my units :-)
repost :
new target for 2007 : 350 - 500 at crank , inside 4 months. 2.2 fe3 equal length manifold, custom intake, forgies, fe5a 245deg cams, decent sump design, 3 inch exhaust, holset he351, possibly a big external gate (quite likely), gtr intercooler, bosch 044 fuel pump and surge tank, and battery relocation (an in vain attempt at traction)
have most of the stuff required, just a matter of machining and purchasing and assembly watch the fe3 section for the sump modification thats gone on this week.
fred.

Reason: add in bogus wheel goals... and psi figure...
All numbers should be posted in whp values since that is what 95% or more of us use as that's what the dyno gives. Guestimated crank numbers will not be used. If you do somehow have crank numbers, we will note it in the table with a *.
Will also probably add whatever correction factor is used if any.
1993
MX6 LS
Turbo
Goal: 220-240whp, 200-240wtq
Current: bone stock
Timeframe: look for dyno numbers towards end of august.

'89 MX-6 GT
Bigger turbo
Goals: 280hp 325+ft/lbs
Timeframe: I originally planned to have it done for Summer, but Spring Break vacation to Jamaica will put a strain on that. But, it will be done before next years winter......hopefully.
I don't know if this is related or not but my clutch sticks, when I let it out fast i feel the pedal tap the bottom of my foot. do you guys think thats the clutch bearing needing to be lubed.
This table will be for community cars only... unless someone who's important asks me to change it.

So you'd post your car and what your goal is for this year. If you don't have any proof of what you have now and you don't get any proof of you reaching your goal, then you didn't reach it. Not sure what the problem is.
no the plan was to turbo, so i wanted a baseline, then i bought the new motor and kit, but sold all that when i sold th car. Just wanted to be able to sya i went from 118-Insert HUGE HP number

point is 95% of those people wont reach it because they wont follow through.
Its kinda like all the people that come here and say "im gonna turbo my mx6" or have this big list of crap that they wanna do.. and they never do it.

heh, maybe it just irritates me.
King6, MX6.com.. MX6.com, King6. Now that you've met, get used to it.
It's just like when people post dyno numbers and say why they didn't get higher. Everyone's always got an excuse for everything. It bugs the crap out of me too.. but even I get caught doing it sometimes.
