I spoke to mechanic friend of mine today, he reckons adding a liter of diesel to every 59 liters of fuel with every fillup will help reduce/eliminate carbon buildup in the cylinders.
Has anyone tried this or know that this works? is it safe? or is it a fallacy?
A liter is REALLY too much, I add about 200mL every few gas tanks, via a small jerry can.... with 1L your asking for trouble, seriously. But yes most fuel conditioners actually have a little bit of diesel in them, as it certainly does clean out the contaminents in the engine.

diesel is a light oil, and if anything will promote smoke and carbon. much like running two stroke fuel would...
also like the other guys article stated, it will lower the octane, though only proportionally, so probably a non issue. but i cant see it doing any good.
these yanks love adding stuff into perfectly good liquids.
why dont you chuck some atf into the engine before your next oil change too.
^ LOL! buddy, thats why I suggested 200ml, it's 1/5 of the dose you gave your car.
Its funny you said "Thanks for the input guys" only to ignore my advice and do the same thing anyway. What was intial point of this thread then?

Since no-one had actually ran diesel at a 1:59 ratio, an experiment had to be done to to test the hypothises, to gather observable evidence.(Although, I still don’t know exactly why it is bad, except for possible cataclismic octane-number reduction).
I suppose, this could be regarded as a waste of a thread, if I wasted anyone's time I apologize.
At least now, we have some evidence to suggest that running a 1:59 diesel:gasoline mix, in a KL-DE, is a bad idea.

use very small amounts like a table spoon for a full tank. if not youll smoke, throw codes and possibly stall. becarefull with this, if your not sure dont use it. i wouldnt
