battery to trunk conversion!!!

was wondering if i can get some input or advice on this! the 2 gauge positive wire i'm bringing from the back of the trunk, to the front of the car, from the inside of the car, out through a gromet on the driver side just a little above the clutch pedal into the engine bay.

how can i connect this wire? i've come up with three options but i still need advice on this: 1. put a connector on the end of it and bolt it on the existing pos terminal wire, 2. splice into the pos terminal wire, or 3. connect it to the pos side of the altenator?

i just though i'd get advice on this!

the best option is to find a battery relocation specific cable. they have an terminal like connection on one end, so you just bolt up the connector under the hood, and use the connector on the other end to bolt to the battery terminal in your trunk. then just run your ground to the frame.

there is (was, at least) a guy on ebay who sells them off BMW's, he pulls them at junk yards. they are extremely big cables, and are built like i stated above. 30-40 ish bucks.

Where the positive cable joins to the starter motor cable (you will see it) that is where you connect it up and run it to the back which ever way you see. make sure you insulate the wire you use (preferably 2 or 0 gauge, I used 0 gauge) otherwise if it rubs on metal and frays then grounds out your car will catch on fire with possibly you in it.

Why are you doing this btw, if it is for no reason, it is a bit of a pain of a job trying to tie the batt to the boot then having no room in the boot.

hey man if you are looking to do it connect to the exsting wires. you can do this with a piece from the home depo. go to the electric section and you will find them. they are pretty cheap as well. I had to use this when I put my multi connect thing to hook up all my stuff. my wire was not long enough to use. I did this and it works just fine! maybe a lil gheto but everything works just the same. I did tape, shrink wrap, and loom the thing to keep it ok.

so why would you need to move it for supercharging or doing a turbo?

not trying to be rude just curious if your working on a CAI or something for the turbo

You have to move the battery to the boot. The turbo sits right where the battery used to be. Some/most superchargers sit there as well. You havent seen a pic of a boosted 2nd gen 6 before?
