You find these all the time from Jap car importers. Perhaps not "fully restored" but in auction grade 4, which is (esentially) as good. All you'd have to do is import one, get it registered and "safetied" in Canada, then import it south of the border, in accordance to American regulations, which is how I assume this guy was able to obtain this one.
just check out

Terra2 Imports - Let us help you import a vehicle from Japan to Canada and you'll see.

After reading through the whole auction and seeing everything he's done to the car, I wonder what that friggin reserve is set at.

20K is a steal for a car as unique and nice as the Cosmo. If there are only 750+ left on the roads in Japan ( a few more might be tucked away in storage ) then this is a rare and collectable car.

WOW....makes me wish I had 10K to bid on this thing, though I'm sure that wouldn't be enough...

I bet close to 30K.......think about it, its a rare car to begin with, even more so in North America.
What a nice car.
(I'd pay 30K in a heartbeat for that)
Really, thing what a newer luxoury car would run?

I wouldn't bat an eye if it's next owner looks out the window every morning to his driveway and smiles. That's one beautiful machine.
Of course, I wish I could be that next owner, but hell if I could afford it.

I would hope the new owner wouldn't park it in the driveway.

Too bad it's as ugly as a turd. Of course I guess turds need to be loved too. Probably runs like a demon though. I suppose the interior is kinda cool, but...........that body style
