yeah, the radiator in my 96 honda accord has sprung a leak. It happened after i decided to go off-roading a bit
. When I parked the car there were a few drops of coolant dripping out. The radiator had done this about 3 yrs ago when i first put it in (VERY cheap rad), it seemed to be leaking from the joint between the plastic end tank and the AL core. I think i through some stop leak in and it fixed the prob, but it seems i gave it a good jarring and its back to leaking. I was orig just going to sell the car the first time i put in the rad/stop leak, but now i'm going to keep it so i don't wanna put anything in it thats gonna cause more problems than it fixes.Long story short: Anyone know of a good coolant stopleak that works? Or does anyone know of a better way to fix the problem? thanks, karma is coming... |

Stop-a-leak "works" depending on the size of the leak. Never-the-less there is also a couple other great products out on the market. Just take a mintue to inquire @ your local auto parts counter. Remember some of the products are just temporary fixes to the occurrence, so keep you eyes open after you mend the leak.

I used it when I was leaking coolant on my first MX6, it had these small black pellets in the solution. It fixed the leak.

after taking a closer look it is actually a small hole caused by the condenser coming out of its bracket and hitting the rad. I used the stop leak with the black pellets and it seemed to work, no leaks while driving it or idling, but then when i turned the car off, the pressure built up and i could hear it kinda gurgle and then slowly start leaking again.
