So I got me a CF lip...56k time to meet your maker...
And I have a dilemma..see, here's the thing...
![]() pretty nice, a bit dirty. Another angle... ![]() You prolly seen it by now, but here's the, errr, "dilema"... ![]() Not necersarily horrible in front....the bottom however... ![]() srsly...pretty FUBARed ![]() I saved it from the trash, so I could care less for it. Well, I do care a bit, if I can fix it, is like $300 I save. Here's what I think are my options... 1. Cut it to the same shape but shorter, right under the damage. Now, this migh tsound the logical one, but the thing already has some holes drill for the bolts and whatnot (which you guys can prolly see), which means that I HAVE to set it in at the same place as before, or I'll have some nasty holes sticking out. Which also means that my lip will be considerably shorter. 2. I can order some CF cloth, and try and rebuild it, throwing a few layers over the damaged area and other damges. Now, Im familiar with FG, but no CF. Should be the same thing for what I know, and If you throw a layer over the thing, nobody would be able to tell really. But this means I have to, someway, rebuild the damged area to extend the CF cloth over it. This, Ive been thinking a few ways, like, using a fine wire to go around the lip. (I'll photoshop or paint shop a pic of what Im thinking later, busy at work). 3. Buy some molding foam or clay or something, make a mold, and make a brand new lip. This one is not only feasable, might be profitable, but its IMO the hardest one to accomplish, and I have no idea where to find the materials to make the mold. I have a few people in the area that might guide me in a general direction, but thats about it. As for right now I kinda look like this... ![]() and fully open to suggestions... |

Apparently, this dude gave his car to a valet attendant, and the attendant took it out for a spin on the parking lot, and he hit a bump. The rest is graphic history.
AFAIK, it is CF. If its composed of anything else, I dunno. Again, this is a trash can salvage... |

I have no clue. I can perhaps check tomorrow, but yeah, it does stick to the side, which stirs me a bit onto #1....
