I'm not at all a 1st gen guy, but I can almost guarentee you, a transplant of a KLZE would cost you QUITE a bit of money, as those cars were never designed for a V6, and it would be an asinine amount of work.
I recommend sourcing in a JDM mazda engine (for your car) from Jdmsource.ca - JDM Engines and Transmissions - JDM Honda Engine & transmissions - JDM Nissan Engines - JDM Mitsubishi Engines - JDM Subaru Parts and just dropping that in, or finding a good used one locally. I'm sure there are more then a few writeups of how to splice in new/different turbos for your car & engine, all in the 1st gen MX6 section of this site.
BTW, any 1st gen specific questions should go in that section rather then general automotive, which is for non-mx6 related automotive things.

Good luck with the swap, and welcome to this site.

people sell used engines all the time on this site. Keep your eyes open.

heres for starters.

http://www.mx6.com/forums/fs-engine-...ne-tranny.html (F/S: 2.2L Turbo Engine and tranny)

also here. Sometimes people part out cars with good engines. Wouldnt hurt to ask.

Now, if that feller can put a KLZE in a 323, I can't see why it couldn't be done on a 1G MX-6. If anything, the MX-6 would have more room for a V6 than a 323 would...

klze are nice engines but why not just put another 1st gen turbo motor in and throw in a turbo upgrade. Much easier and cheaper to do.

The 1G probe came with a V6. Same platform. The KL swap has been done it's not that difficult.

The KL has much more potential than the F2. The FE is more practical and will make just as much power though.

OK and did you look at his age? 17. Can he really afford to run an fe swap? Maybe if he runs it N/A but deff not efficiently in turbo trim. a v6 swap is seriously a waste of time, buy a 2g if you want that. A F2T with simple bolt ons and under 1500 worth of performance mods will be MORE than enough for someone his age and experience level.

Definitely. But you cant tell anything about somone by age. An FE swap isnt exactly difficult it just takes more work and money.
