i sat in the new rx8's at my local dealership and i know what kinda love you felt for the interior lol. buuuut. i say keep yours. i still love the body of the 03-08s like yours. and at least this way, you wont be making MORE unnecessary payments `=D

mine: 93 ZE, clutchmaster clutch, fidanza flywheel, poly motor mounts, HS CAI, HS headers, ractive exhaust, F&R strut bars, ground controls on illuminas, SS clutch line, espec heads/corners and much much more!!
hers: 93 ZE. pretty much the same mods. + F&R drilled rotors, STS, h&r's

Definitely keep yours. The R3 is nowhere near as much fun as yours is. I test drove one and was quite disappointed in the "performance" of it. Handling is OK, but still not enough for my liking. Since yours is already modded, for performance and handling, I say keep yours. Looks wise, I also like the first Gen RX-8 better.

if it were an even trade, sure why not.

If not - why spend the money for what amounts to a lateral move, or even a step down in many areas?

94 mx6 - you name it - I did it, came up with it, tried it and rejected it or just plain still have it.
93 mx3 - klze, i/h/e, rims and paint.. daily driver.

I would say do it cuz the R3s are pimptastic, but payments are a bitch and I'm sure yours is much more fun then driving a stocker for a while til the money comes in for parts.

i would like to but whats killing me is that even with the shorter gears on the r3 or with just any new rx8 the 04-08 rx8 are a bit quicker than the newer models. i also think that the older models look more original, like with the new 8's they now got bmw style side markers.

05 rx8 09 rx8 r3

0/60 = 5.9 6.3

0/100 = 15.9 16.9

1/4 = 14.5 15.0

mph = 95.61 94.87

all test are from road and track and launches were done at 7500 rpm.

but around the turns the r3 is like a second faster .

You have a modded suspension, so I think the turns numbers are irrelevant.
