Lapeer today

Well, me and my Kettering friends are gonna try and get out to Lapeer Dragway today (if we can make it through this mess of a race in Flint today - damn 'em for no warnings). That's right, they basically circle the college until 11am, so we'll see if we can make it out.

If anyone wants to come, look out for a white mx6, a mustang 4.6GT (Ryan), and a accord (Mori). I'd be more than happy to run a fellow sixer, even if it's with the slower project 4-banger of mine (v6 blew up right before I had to leave

don't worry - she'll be back).

And if you're stuck in Flint like I am, good luck to ya in terms of getting out. I gotta go - gonna cuss out the Sargeant at the local station... might need someone to bail me out.

Last time the mx6 ran, the MAF Sensor was done, so it was running 17.3's over at Milan. Today, I'm hoping for more 16's since I have gotten some MAF cleaner, and sprayed it down. No engine codes since, so we'll see.

Times:
Me - 1993 Mazda MX6 i4 2.0L - MAF still ****ed - 17.58-17.62 @ 71.3-80.8
Mori - 1996 Honda Accord 2.2L iVTEC - running good - 17.53-18.02 @ 71-83
Ryan - 199x Ford Mustang 4.6L GT - "can't hook" - 14.2-14.6 @ 93-101!

So, me and Mori were close, with me taking alot of the wins because of experience (lights) and consistancy. I actually came close to Ryan when he sat at the line lighting them up, but he still reeled me in, and took the win by just under 1 second! Closest was the last race between Mori and I, which came down to just over 2-hundredths, with Mori beating my by a hair (I swear, he caught a bug on the tires, and that gave him the win). j/k, he beat me fair and square, but it was CLOSE, and we didn't know who won until we got back.

And, in case you couldn't guess, the 'stang whooped both of us. There was a close one between Ryan and a "light mod" red five-oh out there, but we didn't race anyone else (noone there!) Did get alot of runs in, though.

Next weekend, we might go back to Lapeer, and I'm gonna try to make it to the Saginaw-Valley SCCA (if anyone knows where that is, it'd be a big help).
