Aluminum oxide is definitely one of the best choices you can use for this type of work.

Glass and sand can get stuck in the aluminum so they're a definite no-no.

Do you outgas the parts after blasting before applying the powder? You might find more consistent results if you do, but it'll cost more electricity for the oven. You can stack up a few for the outgas and do them all together though.

I didn't look at the link above, but IIRC, ceramic powder takes much higher temperatures to cure. Makes sense since it's often going on exhaust parts. Often, this temperature is higher than the typical oven can obtain by the dial, more in the 700-800*F range.

That color, being a transparent, would probably only look good with an opaque basecoat (probably silver) to cover any imperfections. Plus, I think Justin is limited to the colors that the place he orders from has, they may not have a transparent red.

Screw Steve.

Be careful of the temp, those hard plastic pieces which the VRIS pivot on can melt. Do some testing to find their melting point so you don't end up with locked up VRIS plates.

Personally anything right now is better than the [shizzle]ty way mine looks. since mine is a DSM intake i dont have any worries.. if it comes out good ill pay full price if it comes out and your unsatisfied i can come to an agreement on a price.. with the chipping paint and whatnot coating it black i doubt would have any issues.
