It never became a thing, just sick shock humor. It's been something popular with a certain group of people for a long long time.

it became an "in thing" in 375 BC when the a roman prisoner, upon being escorted to his public hanging, pointed at the noose ajnd asked "are you sure this thing's safe?"

This began a cycle of sarcastic and off-color humor that culminated with a roman soldier who, in 100 AD, did in fact find 10 dead Etrsucan babies in a trash receptacle... and chuckled.

1 dead baby in 10 garbage cans.
Thats one of the ones I was going to say. Dont know if these were mentioned but:

Whats white, red, sits in a high chair and gets smaller and smaller?
A baby combing his hair with a potato peeler

Whats White, red, sits in a high chair and gurgles?
A baby chomping on razor blades

Whats the difference between a BMW and a dead baby?
I dont have a BMW in my garage.

Dead baby jokes are fun. I think people need to stop being so anal about [shizzle]. Theyre meant to be tasteless. Thats where the humour lies. I dont know what I would fear more. Someone who actually gets off on these jokes, or someone who is so stuck up that they actually find these offensive. Would you guys find racist jokes offensive too? Oh dont get me started there. If it were allowed (not sure if it is) I could go all day on some good ol' racist jokes

What's more fun than spinning a baby on a clothesline at 100km/h?
Stopping it with a shovel.

What do you call a baby with no arms or legs in the middle of the ocean?
[fizzle]ed

How do you stop a baby from crawling around in circles on the floor?
Nail its other hand to the floor.

What's funnier than a dead baby?
A dead baby sitting next to a kid with down syndrome.

How do you know when a baby is a dead baby?
The dog plays with it more.

How many babies does it take to paint a house?
Depends how hard you throw them.

What do you call a baby on a stick?
A kebabie.

What's worse than smoking pot with a baby?
Making a bong out of it.

No body has mentioned "A Modest Proposal" yet?

I also thought it would be good to include Don Hertzfeldt's "Billy's Balloon" since Mushkid started the thread in the lounge.

kinda dumb..
The thing about these jokes, is you start to question the character of the person that’s coming up with them and telling them.

Something is wrong when your not only thinking of mutilation and baby’s, but you think there is some sort of humor in it.

I remember going to this party a few years back and some loser started talking to a group of us, and made some joke about " how do you make a 5yr old cry?. Wipe your bloody d*** off on her teddy bear". found out he's a registered sex offender. I doubt he came up with that "joke" on his own. But Im not the type of person that would ever consider telling it to anyone, nor tell a dead baby joke.
