If you haven't seen it yet, it's worth a click. Some dude installed an "electric turbo" basically a fan on the intake, I'll save the rest for you to explore.
this is such a joke. Do you know how many rpms a turbo has to spin to even create just a few psi? And you think an electric powered fan can even come close? LOL....Its just gonna get in the way. He only THINKS he did something because he installed it and WANTS it to feel like it helped.
This was a good comment by a member on their board:
"So if this actually works, how does it vent excess "boost" when you let off the throttle and the tb closes? If this actually worked as a turbo it would be pushing in a bunch of extra air that all of a sudden had nowhere to go. Thus creating a scenario where the electric motor would probably burn itself out b/c the only place for the air to escape is back the way it came, against the "push" of the impeller.
Also, don't call it a turbo as the word "turbocharger" is derived from the fact that the compressor wheel is driven by a turbine. This would be more of a supercharger.
Oh, and I have an AEM sticker around here somewhere that'll really compliment the NOS ones blackalti has for you. Together they'll make at least 15whp..."
Funny it was worth reading! Heres one of my favorite quotes;
"Im a retard?? Correct me if im wrong but aren't you the kid who has the squirrel cage fan connected to this intake pipe? Didnt you ask how a 2" outlet, is suppose to connect to a 2.5'' inlet? Arent you the kid who drifts his FWD Altima and plans to drive 100+ mph all the time? Grow up, and move out..."
