www.SSautochrome.com XS Power eBay Fake Garrett Turbos Bad Customer Service
I figured I'd put this in the Lounge since it would get most coverage. Not that many here are buying XSPower/SSAutochrome turbos to begin with, but countless are on other forums and are very un-happy with the result.
If you don't know what I am talking about, here's a 16G for sale:
CARS: 2010 Corolla S (bought new in 11/2010), 1990 Caddillac Fleetwood (4.5L V8, FWD, 55,000 miles). 1990 Kawasak Vulcan, not running. Awesome website: http://www.freetalklive.com (unless you love Government).
If I were any stupider I'd think that a majority gave positive feedback without 1) installing and testing the product 2) installing and testing the product 3) installing and testing the product.
I think alot of people would take that positive feedback back if they could.
Don't seem to have many complaints except for fitment issues which are to be expected. They're headers though and don't do much in terms of movement that would cause them to break in the first place, not like a rotating assembly in a turbo that was balanced wrong or cheap parts were used to build.
You'd probably be happier with a thicker wall diamater and there is the possibility of welds not holding. Give it time and I'm sure you'll see some complaints towards that department as well.
No complaints here with the header at all actually. Very surprised about this.
Wow, that Civic page is HORRIFIC. I'm officially worried now, but seeing that I've had mine on for over a year (if not 2, I can't remember) I might be ok.

2. Decrease the fuel consumption of the engine
3. Minimize the exhaust pollution of the engine
4. Restore the power output in plateau area.
It's easy to sell products cheaply when they're made in a sweatshop to begin with.
Sweatshop? Please. 300$? You payed for what you got. You should have known better Sick.
One of those things that was just to good to be true I guess,

P.S. Why does anybody buy autoparts from ebay anyways???? I wouldn't touch those parts with your car.
"I may not have started this thread, but damn it, I'm going to end it!"
MSIIv3 Extra 2.0.1: custom 36-1 reluctor ring; fabulous! Crazy N/A. 95 MX-6 LS-ZE
I didn't pay for anything from SSAutochrome, nor would I. I buy all of my rebuild kits and rebuild my own turbos at the shop I work at. To date, none have come back and it is for a reason.
My motivation isn't to make a sale, I'll sell turbos with or without a website. But I do have friends who have bought SSAutocrap with mixed results.
Anyone selling thousands of Garrett or Mitsubishi or turbos in general is more than likely not selling you the real thing. I'm actually suprised none of the real companies have caught on yet when it's pretty apparent that they're being bought in quantity via wholesale via China via cheap via crap.
i baught the SSautochrome SS headers and Y pipe.. No complaints or problems.
So to say all there parts are junk, is not exactly correct.
Ive also baught many parts off ebay.. All good. How? Because i investigate and read about everything i dont know about. Research ebay sellers and there products.
If you simply type in ZY turbo or XS power turbo in google, you get tons of info.
Also, for $300 your getting junk, there about $200 over priced.

damn those prices are high.
i need to find a good used turbo. not looking to spend 700 plus on a new turbo.
Might wanna research into the prices. 700 for a new turbo (turbonetics, greddy, garret, holset) is pretty damn good.
Your lucky to find a rebuilt or used under $500. Also the risk of buying a used one is pretty high since you dont know how long it will last.
This [shizzle] cost alot, i think when people say "build your own setup, its cheaper" there actually meaning that building your own setup is cheaper when getting the better parts. Kits usually come with nock off or cheap parts.

Did you measure wall thickness? Answer- No
Do you care? Answer-No
Are all of their products bad? Answer- No, but they without a doubt could be better, in fact a whole lot better, especially the turbos.
PS-
XSPower IS SSAutochrome
And another thing, you'll also see a new company name popping up with the same shipping address.
ill think you will find it funny to know that they have many other identitys on ebay. Ebay doesnt have a limit for the amount of identitys or buisness's you can have.
They are also the ZY turbo distrubuter. wich seems to be a bit better then the XS powers since the one i have isnt glued together ..lol

Actually i did, there very strong, The welds are very strong. all around a great set of headers.
Ive had them on for a year and half now, taken lots of abuse.. not one problem. If i dint like there structure, i would have resold them instead of installing them. ..
The only negative is they give very crappy hardware and the gaskets arent worth a [shizzle]. All in wich was very cheaply fixed.
Also, i know a guy that baught 2 of the Tial wastegate look a likes sold from ssautochrome and hasent had a problem. He got it for about $70 less then the tial 38mm cost. These have quite a bit of movment and extreme heats to withstand..
Also have heard good things about the blow off valves they sell.
