Damn Kids (Long pointless story. Angry and had to type)
I left the bar tonight and headed to the local after-bar pizza place for some sober me up food. I get there and this kid I peer tutored (2 years younger than me) is trying to stare me down. I just smirked at him and went my own way. He starts gummin' and calling me Dave and Dan and Steve and starts going off about how he hates me for electrocuting him in electrical class. I peer tutored his grade 9 science class, my name's not Dave, Dan or Steve, and I never electrocuted him. I walked away.
Me and my friends part ways and I started walking home, which is about a 45 minute walk. I get close to home and who do I see? This little douche again! He walks his bike (yeah, like pedal bike BMX EXTREEEEEME style) in front of me and starts talking about this Dan guy again. His 2 buddies are behind him and I'm alone, just trying to walk home.
I tried going around him and he just kinda kept putting him and his bike in my way. I don't think I've been so angry and pumped up in my life. I put all my force into the push to end all pushes and put him on the ground HARD. Now this kid's laying on the ground and his buddies are standing there all tough guyish like they're gonna do something. The kid I pushed was still laying on the ground so I went over and helped him up and told him to watch his mouth. A few choice words were exchanged between me and his buddy and then I just said [fizzle] it and left.
They followed me for a bit so I just turned around and stood there, figured if something was gonna happen I might as well get it over with. They took the next side street. I don't know what's up with me, but I FEEL BAD for pushing the guy, and I'm angry as hell about the whole situation (like fast heart beat/shaking kinda anger).
Thank you for listening, or not.

Some kids need that push to get back to their senses. You kept it civil, which is good, one of those days he'll bad mouth the wrong person and he'll get his ass handed to him. He got lucky this time
I think you went easy on him, but then again I'm always refered to as 'an asshole.' He started the shlt by following you, for all you knew he had a butchers knife ready to chop your nutsack off.
You'd probably be on an assault charge if you did that in the UK - such is our crackpot legal system presided over by old bodgers with wigs.

I could be charged with assault for pushing him, however, I was kinda in a vulnerable position and had somewhat of a need to protect myself. I'm not gonna let some punk hit me first if I feel at all threatened.

meh, a threat is considered assault here if you feel your safety is in danger. so technically you were just defending yourself. and i agree, that assbag is going to get beat up some day for saying something to the wrong person.
EDIT: then again, you're in canada, so i don't know how things work there
Naw man you did exactly the right thing, you showed them you wern't going to take it by pushing him, but you played civil by walking away and not starting [shizzle]. That kid must have been druuuuuunk though to think you were completly someone else.
Feel bad if you knocked down a 13 year old, he was only 2 years younger than you, thats even ground
What did he say when you said you weren't who he thought you were? You handled it well, but just watch out. He seems like a huge puss, so he may try and get his "revenge" for you dropping his ass.

i hate assholes like that. i woulda whupped his ass and his friends, too. when somebody does something like that, IMO thats a threat and must be dealt with accordingly. now if its a 14 year old thats a different story and i agree with the others, i think you did the right thing.
