Me and my friend checked this out at 2:00 when it was released...its a massive report. I think a lot of people are gonna be [fizzle]ed because of it, or at least their reputations will be tainted...i mean Clemens and Pettitte just to name 2 big names.
Should be interesting to see what happens...i think some kinda action should be taken, i dont know what...my friend says he things steroid use makes the sport of baseball more exciting (with 60 HR seasons)...i disagree, maybe its just me...

Granted, I don't follow MLB very closely- But if there isn't going to be any real discipline and change [mangina]ill it happens, I won't believe it) then all Mitchell really did was waste alot of time, energy, and money- all to tell us what we already knew, and make sure he pointed a finger in every direction along the way.

Edit: because our language filter is waaaaayyyyyy to sensative- [mangina] is really supposed to be ( unt, without the space. So it would read ( untill. unbelievable.

the "report" is pretty damning. on the one hand it seems a bit like a witch hunt, but on the other hand... it puts into record what was always a suspicion rE: the widespread use of steroids or other performance enhancing drugs (not all are illegal, merely unauthorized for use in MLB)
94 mx6 - you name it - I did it, came up with it, tried it and rejected it or just plain still have it. **Now in the caring hands of Chef** 93 mx3 - klze, i/h/e, rims and paint.. **FS - on a lift, has an engine, just need to put them together. I have no time. come buy it cheap. 98 jeep GC - 5.9L with bolt ons, lifted, locked. 32x10.5 Goodyear MTR winter/ 30x9.5 bfg ta/ko summer. Custom steel bumpers + armor. "the beast" 98 jeep GC - 5.9L with every bolt on + tune. My street jeep. small tires, but runs 13's
its alot to read, i actually printed it out at work as "bathroom" material.
its interesting, but in my opinion somewhat of a waste. How are they gonna make any changes based on the past, i mean you cant say Clemens would have won 50 less becuase he "used steroids"
its gonna be hard to put a number on anything stemming from this, all they can do is work towards the futurse and not having this [shizzle] happen again
I agree with the "asterisk" movement.. let the records stand beside the ones they broke, and give the new ones an asterisk. hell - half of the babe's records were done with him under the influence of performance DETERRING substances (he was a notorious pre-gameday drunk lol.)

i dont know how i feel about that movement.
I mean at the time, these record(s) were not broke while the athletes where breaking league policies. Not saying I agree that the policies where correct, but the athletes didnt do anything "wrong" (by league policies)
but everyone is absolutly entitles to their opinion on this topic. Hell i even have one of the barry bond record tshirts
Bond's record occurred at a time squarely when he was involved in steroids for several years... ie: were all of his home runs drug assisted? probably not.. but certainly a majority of the latter ones over the past few years... which given his "on fire" status, would certainly make a difference as to whether or not he could have broken the record without roids.
I'm not saying all accomplishments that players have made should be asterisked, but certainly the ones made where there is doubt as to whether they w

im with goat on this one...i believe there should be an asterisk next to the players names who have used HGH and it has been proven. its simply not fair to the other players who worked their asses off to be where they are. im not saying Clemens and Bonds didn't work their asses off too, i know they did, but the use of HGH is plainly an unfair advantage.

I in a way agree ... but its hard to really do that. Because its all in the past. Its kinda the old "innocent until proven guilty"
but even if they all test positive now its impossible to legally prove they did it. Regardless of what any "physician" says or documented proof. with all the advancements in medicine and training regimns, its not that out of the world to suggest some players would have reached these numbers "clean"
granted seeing pictures of bonds and mc or even sosa in there early years, and then too see them jump 35 lbs of pure muscle is evidence against these guys
if they did or not, it still made for some great baseball

It still makes for some incredible baseball. I believe mc and sosa 'saved' baseball after the strike. Granted, this could 'destroy' it again but while what they did may not have been right, it helped the sport. People flocked to the games to see them play and were intrigued by the game again. But that is not the point here.
What you (ian) said about innocent until proven guilty is true. I'd never thought of it that way before. you're right, nothing can be 100% proven now that the time has gone, but there is so much more than suspicion on them right now. You saw how the suspicion of steroids on mcgwire kept him out of the Hall this past year. This will basically be what happened to the Black Sox of 1918(?). Except there is the possiblility that these players will play again. Which is sad, but not my decision.
And if there is punishments handed out, this will not be a waste of time and money, otherwise Mitchell is the fool here. I still say, no matter what happens, that this could be for the best in the game. Get it now, when its only some players before it consumes the game. Might not be good in the short run, but the long run it could pay off.
I hope that was slightly coherent and i didn't make too big a fool of myself, but this is what i believe without writing a full paper.

I personally don't see what all the hype about this crap. It's just ENTERTAINMENT ffs.
How about they hold another grand jury about all the actors and actresses who get plastic surgery...since that's technically cheating to look younger, no?
