saw this poor rx7 driving through some neighborhoods today. I saw it once before driving and it was dragging the front bumper. So happy i could finally snap a pic of it.

^ I was as a kid. its definately something I'd still love to get into as a career. I find that stuff absolutely amazing. If you have Google Earth, in one of the drop down menus in the top left; you can switch it to "Sky" then it becomes (esentially) Google Astronomy. I've spent more then a few evenings just looking at these amazing Nebula's and other incredible things.
Id love to get back into that stuff, but a (powerful) telescope costs numerous thousands of dollars. I guess there are local observatories that I can I'm sure.

Its incredible, that Canis Majoris Star. If you were to replace our sun with that star, it would reach as far as Saturn. You can fit 1 billion of our suns in that star.
At a normal walking pace (at 8 hour shifts), it would take 2.5 years to walk around our planet. It would take 650,000 years to walk around Canis Majoris at that same rate.

How about you Broken? you sound fasinated by that stuff as well

Im an astronomy buff. I eat anything that has to do with astronomy, theoretical physics, astropyhsics, quatum and pretty much anything that has to deal with the sorts. I have a nice little telescope at my house, powerfull enough to see a portion of the moon and a good look at Jupiter. I never miss the discovery channel or science channel mini series or specials. As of this moment Im reading on the formation of planets and the time continium theory (in a nut shell, they are trying to explain how or why is it that enthropy is more now than at the beggining of time, when it shoudl be the opposite. Time balances out equations, except the equation of time itself). funny thing is that, Im horrible beyond pathetic (sp??) at math.

Its pretty fascinating how big [shizzle] can get out in space, and how small we really are. We see our little solar system as something almost impossible to cover, yet we are nothing but a speck on a speck of a galaxy in the universe (the milky way is not that big by astronomical measures)

oh yeah, and Im subscribed to Scientific American. yeap, Im a geek
