Estimated I.Q. of Famous People

^ Thats where I got some of the numbers from.

Goat, I wouldn't say its complete BS, being the relevance of IQ tests.

My old room-mate was brilliant in just about everything. his IQ was 138. Some of the conversations we had were absolutely incredible, as they'd go into the wee hours of the morning all the time. I honestly dont think I'll ever meet a guy more brilliant then him. Just his level of understanding on everything people & ethical, (etc) was mind-boggling. But thats irrellevant I know.

I'm surprised you down play yourself to say "you have a high IQ and look and me" You have the best and well-formed opinions of anybody else on this forum IMHO, and your legal, ethical (debates), and mechanical knowledge I sure find to be inspiring.

I would have guessed you were a very smart guy from a good portion of your posts alone.
I seem to average 134 on every test I've done since I was a kid. Always between 130-138. Too bad though, as I have a learning disability... so school was bloody hell for me.

I have a "high IQ" but i think it's because i test well, I'm no smarter than the next guy or gal. and those tests only measure visual/spacial ability and language comprehension, and the tests are biased towards WASPs, they score higher because its their culture. Just because someone has a high IQ doesnt mean they are smart, it just means they are talented at IQ tests

I wholeheartedly understand you. I have learning disabilities as well, but many consider me a rather inteligent person, specially on science and such subjects. I personally think Im very good at problem solving, puzzles, tricky things and stuff like that. But liek in school, I cant put myself to do it for 5 secs before I go screw it and start posting on a forum

Is call mechanical prowness. My brother is just like that too, he cant study or go to school worth [shizzle], but he can design circuits, mother boards, and very complex electronical crap since he's like 11. He's also very good on computers. Anything mechanical really. Left side of the brain FTMFW

I took an IQ test when I was in grade school. This was in the third grade, I believe. When I started my current job, I was also asked to take an IQ test.

Kinda weird that even though those two events occurred almost 13 years apart, I scored the same 141 on each IQ test.

actually, I see this quite normal. What this is telling you is that you have not lost your brightness, your intelligence. You were/are equally smart now at your level on age and scholarship as you were back in the third grade, in your level of age and scholarship.

the tests are controlled for age, a 26yo should be smarter/more adept than a 6yo

I'll take that bet. Republicans aren't going to come to vote for McCain, since he isn't a 'true' conservative. There's also a report of McCain (check the NYT) of what 'appears' to have had an improper relationship with a female lobbyist a several years ago.

Exactly. My point was that the system they use to accommodate one's physical age must work fairly well.
