How bout the "supposed" top street racing crew in CA being supprised that the MK5 supra on the truck had a 2JZ? What else were they expecting to see?

nothing like a 2 minute and 15 second drag race to start the movie. With a car as fast as that rx7 SHOULD be, they would have covered over 5 miles in the race at full throttle

CONFUSED EDIT: go to the first scene at race wars, in one shot, michelle fernandez has suede racing seats, then right when the race is about to start her seats are stock
