...my effing car would effing die so I have a legitimate reason to get something better. I had my eye on a newer truck, but my car has never left me stranded and there's no logical rerason to get rid of it. It was cheap, maintenance has been nil, gas prices don't bother me as I don't have far to go often, and all that's wrong with it are little minor quirks that I can honestly live with. It's good in the winter, it starts every time, it's comfortable, it floats down the highway...
I just hate this car so much sometimes I feel like cutting my own brake lines and driving the [fizzle]ing thing into a telepehone pole.
/Rant
Edit: It's the cool factor. My car isn't cool...at all. [fizzle]. I'd rather be driving my beat old GT, at least it was quick and relatively fun to drive.
1994 Ford Taurus with the 3.8 V6. It only has 122K Kms on it and has a remanufactured engine in it (by Ford), probably due to a head gasket problem which is common on the 3.8's. It's pretty much in mint condition, except the radio stopped working and the AC needs to be recharged. It has power windows, locks, sunroof, lumbar, PS and DS seats, electronic climate control, keyless entry, blah blah blah, and it all works perfectly.
yeah I know how you feel. my '99 Saturn (now official winter car... again) wont die either. 275,000km's and still has yet to break down. I cant afford to get rid of it, as its too damn reliable, gas & insurance is sweet nil too.
Its very annoying indeed. Just park it for now and use it as a winter car. Thats the only way I could justify getting something newer myself.
