Google en Espanol? WTF?

Phantascene.com's Travel Journal: Google going Spanish?

Freelancer’s Office » WTF? Google.com redirecting to Google.es?

The reason I Googled that in the first place is because mine started doing that too after an update from Microsoft for Vista. Should I be more concerned? My Google.com automatically defaults back to w ww.google.es

Is this a keystroke stealing program or what?

Well I hope to god Google.ca doesn't switch over to French... that'll be annoying. Seeing as how whenever I type Google.com it autodirects to Google.ca...

Did you try removing the cookies off your computer and see if that helps?

sick - you have to check your hosts file.

easiest way to talk you through it is to IM... because if it's not there, there are several other things we would try, that going back and forth via the thread will take days.

i really hope thats not true and related to what damian is going through. spanish is so wide spread in america it's ridiculous anymore. our grandfathers grandfathers grandfathers fought and died for this country just to let others come in years later and disrespect it. makes me sick

now, I dont want to turn this into a flame war, much less a race war, but why is it a disrispect a culture/language has spread over the continent? May I remind you sir, the white, american race is as much as an immigrant and colonizer as any latin, black, japanese, or any other race in the USA, perhaps less(we havent killed anybody to be here, besides loosing our own lives). I mean, means little to me, Im a US citizen from birth, but I am hispanic. So I feel mentioned.

BTW There's a lot of hispanic, black, native american names on the WWII records. Not only white. We all fought to be here. We all fought for the opportunity and freedom of this country. WE should all be recognized and respected, and have he right to live here

im not trying to get into flames or be a dick either, and im just writing my opinion.....

the way i see it is that the english language is what america was found on. it is disrespectful in my opinion to go to another country and expect people to change their native language based to your likings. i just think if you are in the united states, if you want to provide service or be provided services, it should be done in english. why should i have to press 1 to get automated service in english, when it should be a given?

if i moved to mexico, i know i would be speaking spanish and would not expect anyone to accomidate me because i dont speak the native language. you can have your heritage, and your culture, and if you move to a different country, by all means take that with you. but moving to another country and expecting others to change to accomidate you, well i think that is wrong

Now, with THIS, I agree wholeheartedly. I hate it when people approach me at the resort and talk to me in spanish right out of the bat. Im like wtf why do you presuppose? Learn english and at least ask me if I know spanish. Then you'll get an answer.

Indeed, it is just common respect and common sense, if your in a country, you cant expect everyone to accomodate to you. When in Rome, do as the Romans.
