I agree 100% on a MS3 or MS6, but I don't make that kinda money...yet. A Mazda 3 hatch would be a good option and I've seen a few that are pretty close to my price range.

BShark, I know exactly what you're talking about and that is why I'm having such a hard time getting rid of it. I just look at it, and it needs a lot of work and it probably won't be all that long until the body starts to rust out completely. I just don't want to dump a bunch of money into a car that could possibly fall apart in the next couple of years, you know? If the body and undercarriage wasn't so rusted out I might have been in a different mindset. Stupid road salt and winter driving...it takes a lot out of a car if you don't treat it from the beginning.

You could always check on used SVT Focus'.

Those aren't bad machines...and they are on the same platform that the 3 and S30 Volvo's are based on.

just from what my eyes are seen, the svt focus is apparently a sub-par player considering I see too many guys leave the svt focus scene and move to the mazda3/6 or speed3/6 but I wouldnt recommend the 6 IMO its crap and always will be.. good luck getting stupid [shizzle] fixed under warranty.. ive read the worst stories. I know a guy in our local club has a boosted p5. It's just an FS motor. so whatever you can get for the protege speed is practically an option..I think I owe like 14k on my 6, you can have it if you pay the remaining balance.. LOL

^ yeah I've driven an SVT Focus a fair bit, as they definately are fast in a straight line, but I found the handling to be sub par without a doubt.

Well, I've thought it over for the past week and I think I'm going to stick with the 6. I'd rather spend a few hundred getting it through emissions, than spending a few thousand on a new car and having to worry about car payment every month. Plus, a new car isn't practical for me right now. I live downtown Toronto, ride my bike to work, so I really only use the car for pleasure driving.

I'm stickin' around guys!

lol

yeah, owning your car is always better than paying on one. car payments = SUCK

the lack of a cupholder just makes it that much more like a Ferrari

I also own a MS6, I love it. I have owned it for about 1.5 years on a 6 year loan and I can already say I will never sell the car until it gets smashed by a random garbage truck doing 70 round the corner in my neighborhood. Granted its a heady dog, it still does just fine for DD'ing the city streets. Its got more go than 80% of the cars on the road, but nothing super blow me away power.

Same goes with the MX6. I have thought about parting/selling so many times, I just CANNOT let it go. Its like when you drive one for more than 4 years it just sublimes itself into your blood and you simply cannot get rid of it because it would be like taking a part of your body away. I want all my fingers, and my MX6 too.

If you ride bike to work and got a garage of some sort to keep the '6 the elements shouldn't be too rough on the body...

and I need a fellow hunter green 6er on the forum to represent the colors yo!!

Stealth --> lol that finger/mx6 thing cracked me up good
