I think it might be time to move on...

I've been having a hard time lately making a decision. I think I might move on from the MX6 world...as hard as that is to say. My car refuses to pass emissions, it's been off the road for the past month, there is lots of rust forming, it needs more repairs at this point than I care to list. So over the past couple weeks I've been trying to decide on what I want to do. I'm having trouble moving on because the 6 was such a sick car and there isn't much out there right now that peaks my interest (and that are also in my price range). I'm not really willing to spend money on a 12-15 year old car anymore...which is holding me back from trying to find a decent '96.

I don't know, I'm torn. The other cars I've been looking into is either a Protege 5 or a Subie.

any advice would be stellar. :S

Maybe a 1st gen WRX? They can be had fairly cheap, just make sure it hasn't been modded too heavily or thrashed on. I've actually thought of one of those myself, but after the 6 it's back to BMW land for me =)

But I understand your frustration, as much as I love my cars, you just reach a point where you say "I'm done". That's what happened with my Corrado. Do I miss that car? Everytime I see one it pains me, so yes, but I know I'm, and my wallet, is better off.

'91 GT, K&N drop in, 2.5" RacingMazda downpipe, Magnaflow hi-flo cat and muffler, dual resonators and some choppy exhaust work (will clean up later). Eibach/Tokico HP's, stock everything else.

Been looking at Subie Impreza RS's and I found a few that are in my price range...not a bad looking car.

i like P5... those have a nice after market and stellar handling out of the factory. at the same time, it's practical... hauls lots of stuff in the back. I'd say go for the Protege5.

Mods: KLZE, I/H/E, Hi-Flow Cat, Stainless clutch line, Engine mount inserts, ACT HDSS clutch, MX-3 flywheel, Chipped ECU, J-Specs w/HID, K-Sport coilovers, RSTB, FSTB, Addco RSB, Clear side markers
Not installed yet: HEI module

Yeah I've been looking for into the P5's as well. They are nice...I'm just not sure what I want to do yet. I've heard good and bad things about both, so we'll see.

mazda3 hatch is where is at.

P5 are good as long as you dont mess with the engine. The engine does not react well to mods (like F/I and stuff like that. An intake and headers wont kill you), but if you leave it alone, the engine and tranny are bulletproof.

I had the same issue a little over a year ago. I went the MazdaSpeed3 route. Although my baby still has her old spot at home and I am hoping to breath new life into her this year.

Good luck man. I know money talks, but if you can hold on to her do it and work on her as time and money allows.

I think we all go through the phase of wanting to sell it. I went through that phase, then did a complete 180 degree turn and went to modding it instead.
