New project, yay or nay.

It's for sale for $400, but the ad says it's going to the scrapyard soon and no reasonable offer refused. It needs an engine (F2T ) but it looks pretty damn clean for an '89. It's a 5 speed and I could probably sell the topper for $200.

Depends on how far you want to go with it. If you are happy to do the swap add boost and have a peculiar car that can still get grocerys, then go for it. Cant argue with the price depending on whether the rest of the car is in decent nick.

How much does it weigh?

truthfully i say nay, its awesome to have that extra room in the back of the cab but its for me to picture something that long with some power. I realize there are trucks that have extended cabs that are quick but srt-10's look good, the ford lighting looked good, and if it was a standard cab i think it would fit better. Thats just me though.

Im sure its pretty heavy being extended cab.. I was thinking of finding a small B2200 to swap an f2t into. replace the bottom of the bed with some light/thin aluminum sheet and put a leather cover over the top of the back to make it look almost stock

I've been looking for a regular cab with the short box, and I've found a couple, but not for this price.

As for how far I'd take it, I'd likely just put it together with stock 1G parts to start with and have a fun little daily driver.

400 bucks isn't a lot for a new project. I say go with your instinct. I mean look at me, i spent 400 bucks on an LX everyone thought was stupid. Now i'm slowly beginning to raise intrest with some on here and even a few friends. Again, lets forget about the huge ass wheels i just bought and am pondering on wearing lol.

YAY -

Ford 3l V6 - cheap motor, drops right in there... (same block as in the old Mazda b3000)
Even the upgraded 3.4l V6 would do (but costs more)

The B3000 was a different design and was built alongside the Ranger. These are the last of the all Mazda trucks. The next generation saw the B2300, B3000, B4000. The generation I posted (B2200) was equipped with either a carb'd F2 or an F2 with EFI.

It wouldn't get lowered at all. I like small trucks, but I don't like the whole mini-truck, laying frame, dragging ass thing. I just want it to be quick and be able to haul some hockey gear...and maybe a dirtbike.
