What the hell is a K20A-R?

K20A is the JDM ITR motor

K20A2, K20A3, K20Z1, K20Z3 also exist, but AFAIK there is no such thing as a K20A-R.

This abbreviation stands for the Spoon DC5 Type R K20A. because there's a major difference between the Type R and the Spec R.

For 3k I would be all over that thing.

97 C8 MX6 LS-S : Supercharged StreetThisMx6's motor, HP's and Eibach's, AWR suspension components, FD's and J-specs, etc... Yeah it's nice

Look, I know it's tempting, but pass on the wing and altezza's . It would make a great sleeper.

or, instead of spending the mega-bucks it'll take to do a K-series swap, you could maybe do the b20 block with b16 head(or something like that). from what i understand the cr-v block has a bit more torque than the other b-series and you can still have the v-tec(turbo lag w/o the turbo) by putting the b-16 head on it.

i try to keep up with the honda tuning trends but it's so hard to take them seriously with all the swaps and horrible bolt-on gains.

ever notice how in magazines, when they list the mods to a feature car they'll usually post the whp & wtq, not so much for the honda's. wonder why

the lack of a cupholder just makes it that much more like a Ferrari

To the 'B-haters', we just finished doing a simple B18c swap on my friend's 94 EJ hatch, and that thing is putting 200whp N/A easy. It revs to 9k, and makes power until 9k.

JDM GSR
JDM GSR transmission (supposedly has LSD, but this has not yet been confirmed)
Hasport Solid mounts
Skunk2 ITR intake manifold
Skunk2 Race cams
Skunk2 65mm TB
Koyo Radiator
AEM AFPR/ rail
Custom Race Header
Magnaflow Hi-flow cat
Apex full cat-back

He's spent close to 4k on parts but IMO it was worth it to be running 13's reliably @ 0psi

K20 swaps on the other hand are just too expensive right now since the price of the motor is still looming around $6k. You can make 220+ whp with K-Pro and tuning, but that will run you another $2K.

I guess it all depends on how 'm4d tYt3 jDm' you want to be

Electric Blue 1993 Probe GT - mustang dyno'd @ 150 WHP 151 WTQ
14.50 @ 94.78 mph @ 2540lbs (currently 2840lbs w/ full leather interior), Hybrid clutch SBC 6-puck/ CM stg-III plate, Fidanza 9lb, RR inserts, RR ss clutch line, Transaver, 67mm TB, SSAC CAI/H, JJ resonated testpipe, 3" catback, Magnaflow muffler, 215/45/17 G-Force TA's, [finally dusting off the turbo kit?!]

There's no such thing as 'GSR' in Japan. A B18C could easily defeat a K20A dude. Start with a USDM/CDM B18C4/5 block and head. Bolt a Type R transmission with JDM B16B cams and pistons, spoon retainer, spoon computer, racing oil pan, etc. You'll end up with a 230-240 n/a WHP Monster!

And god damn! K20A are not cheap for you! It cost 3.5k CAN for a full Type S swap over here. And when I mean full it's almost everything.

well i am getting the motor for 1600$ it's from my friends 06 si civic, the hatch i haggled the guy down from 2000 to bring it down to 1500!, i am also getting the tranny since his si was totaled! my friend has money!!! he don't really care about his cars.

kinda pisses me off how he treats all his cars, cuz when he crashes or f's-one up, he just asks daddy and he gets a new one
