Hahah, your signs have fractions!

PS. My googling revealed this image from 2006.

It is $1.60/$1.70 a Litre now, man, that was only 2 years ago. It really hits hard when you see that....

A while back there was a funny story about how all this gas price increase started. Story goes that some oil company execs decided that if people were willing to pay $1.50-$2.00 for a 20oz bottle of water then they could afford to pay more for a gallon of gas, which at that time was around a $1.00-$1.10. True or not, I don't know, but stanger [shizzle] has happened.

What is this story I hear of Saudi oil companies not liking these really really high prices. Apparently they are going to start development in some oil field much earlier to introduce more oil and increase supply so prices come down a bit. When oil is $160 a barrel, alternative energy which is "inefficient and expensive" becomes a much more attractive alternative. Really, it would hurt the long term sustainability if prices keep going up.

No one bring in the yer look at the 70's blah blah, this is much much worse.

wow.. i haven't seen a caltex star in a while.
but that l300 is turbo diesel right? that's cool.
when i lived in the philippines, almost all the trucks, suv's, and vans were turbo diesel. that's why i loved the montero/pajero over there.

I dont know??? . Most of the better vans and big utes(trucks) are turbo diesel, but the base models are more common and mainly just straight diesel (and quite a few straight fuel vans)

We still use the Caltex star, I dont know any other symbol

The funniest part is you have a KFC in AU lol. ROCK ON!! Put in some taco bells and Wendy's and I'm there brother!

I get cranky about seeing $4.60 for 87 in California because in that region the average income is double or more than in the midwest, even for like jobs. Yet the midwest has almost as high of prices for gas even tho we're poor lol. That ain't right!!

On a crazy off the wall side note, I think this recession is exactly what the US government wants, regardless if it forces a global recession or not. The world looks to the value of the US dollar as a bench mark and as it continues to crash and create more stagflation the USD will eventually be phased out and replaced by this new "Amero". The important govt corporations still make money thru a recession (oil, defense, millitary etc). And while Canada and Mexico openly admit to agreeing on the Trilateral agreements with the US and the Amero being legit, it makes me think that this is all part of the governments plan to force people into submission. Then they rely even more on the federal govt's help. It allows them to take more rights from the people and bypass the Constitutional laws that are meant to prevent the federal branch from becoming too powerful. I smell a trap here!

Hhahah we have Mcdonalds and Burker king as well, it isnt all red sandy desert. Our wendys doesnt sell food though, icecreams and milkshakes only . We had taco bell for a while, didnt do well apparently as I havent seen one in about 10 years. I think you will be suprised at the cost of food here in Aus, my mate moved to the States and when got back he was shocked to see burgers for $4 when they are $1 in the States.

Jewels, isnt Caltex a big petrol retailer in the States? Or does it go under a different name?

yeah but our mc muffins have Real bacon in them though, my mate who goes to hawaii every year says they have bacon flavord pattys or something... i think the quality is better here, and there is more love... like if you went to some resteraunt and asked for one of those burgers with "the lot", will cost you 8 bucks but damnet it will be worth it, the things are 6"inches across and like 5 high, packed with bacon, beef, everything, the lot, $8 at maccas will get you a pounder, which is just 4 pindick sized beef pattys and cheeze sauce...

Wendys lol , my sister worked at the maquarie one until it went bankrupt

As per the price of petrol, it will always go up, regardless of oil prices going up or down. My hope is that inflation makes the dollar worth [shizzle] all enough that its not too hard to pay petrol bill, afterall, a weeks wages many years ago was about $50 ...

Worst thread ever.

LOL Jack In the Box is the best out here. I think they are the restaurant who has the two for 99 cent tacos. But my fave are the chicken fingers with Red Hot sauce.

Wendy's sucks, I haven't eaten at one in many years. I can't say I've been to a KFC in a while either.
