You only have to have a quick search of their user name and see if any threads were started in the racing forum to spot the hypocrite. Which is why you will never see me bagging on someone speeding. Except the one time when the guy was doing 200k's with a broken water temp gauge.

Oh come on, it was a joke. You guys need to chill out. I was just making fun of him by telling him that speeding decreases gas mileage, which we all know is true. We all speed but with gas prices at record highs, I'm keeping my lead foot as light as a feather.

A letter in Playboy several decades back (when I was catching my first real look at it, back when I was in my early teens) reminded me of the current situation. It went something like this: When ther is an Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, there will/should also be an Organization of Fuel Using Countries. And every time OPEC raises its prices, it will be to the anguished cries of...well, I cannot put it here without getting fizzled or shizzled, so you get to figure it out!

The good thing about electric cars, is there is many ways of recharging it. We won't be dependent on oil companies, and can use hydro, windmills etc. I'm working on a conversion now for a MX3. I'm building a large brushless hub motor that will mount right on the transmission.

There is no reason for the price of electricity to increase with the price of gas. Even coal fired power plants can be made alot cleaner with better scrubber technology. There are a huge # of companies working on new energy solutions right now.

The biggest threat right now is not the price of gas. Its China becoming a global super power and controlling all manufacturing and trade.

You think that is bad? A month ago I took my truck down to California to pick up a dirtbike, roundtrip was about 500 miles. It cost $125 to fill up the truck when I got home. I think if I ran the tank totally empty it would cost about $180 for a fill up. I'm now thinking of putting a trailer hitch on the MX-6 and buying a small trailer to tow a couple quads on.

Currently have two 1988 MX-6 GT 5 speeds, both white, one stock, one not. Also have a big ass Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 Diesel for fun.

Unfortunately, most of our electricity will probably come from coal-fired power plants, and the price will undoubtedly go up--not with the price of petroleum, but with the increase in demand. Add that to the environmental impact of coal-fired electrical plants (what's worse for the planet--drilling for oil or strip-mining for coal?) and we see the bad thing about electric cars, particularly plug-ins. (Naturally, this may not apply to hybrids.)

They already do control all manufacturing. We wont miss out if they control trade. Only the U.S will.

$50 to fill up is jack [shizzle]. Try $80 on an average day here mate.

I might just start riding a horse to work if fuel gets too much more expensive.

That should be incentive for you to ride the bike.

A horse would be heaps fun. Are you allowed on the road with a horse?? Sure horses are expensive blah blah, but it shouldnt take more then say $30 a week to feed a horse. And no oil changes .

I guess thats true.
People ride on horses around here because there is a state park. No permit or anything, just the fact that everyone hates you because they dump loads EVERYWHERE
