Seriously though, I do find it strange how civilians can get military (or even ex military) weapons so easily in the states. I am glad it isnt like that here BUT, that doesnt mean I wouldnt jump at the opportunity to legally own any AK .
Why does it matter? It's not like there fully automatic like military versions, which is a huge difference IMO. Most people buy them for the sport and not to own some ones face, but of course there are ones out there that buy them for that reason. Either way civilian versions are different from my understanding.

I wouldn't say that. You need to shop around. I got mine on GunsAmerica - Connecting Gun Buyers to Gun Sellers Since 1997 - Guns For Sale & Gun Auctions from a lawyer in Texas for $800 shipped. Here is what I got:

Stag Arms lower with 6 position adjustable stock
Bushmaster upper with M4 barrel

That right there is worth $800. Then, I got all this with it:

TangoDown VFG-$60
Midwest Industries Handguards-$130
Pentagonlight MD2-$430
Removable Carry Handle-$40
A.R.M.S. Back-Up Iron Sight-$100

Total: $760 worth of extras
Grand Total: $800 for more than $1500 worth of rifle. Yeah, $800 might be a bit of money, but for what I found, it was a hell of a deal.

I threw a 3 point sling together, and its almost complete. All I need now is an EOTech sight, and I have a pretty badass gun

And since I'm a whore:

Moral of the story: Good buys are out there. You can find them.

my best friend owns an AK, SKS, and M4 Carbine. While the M4 is obviously the best gun out of them by far, the SKS is def. way better then the AK. I've also shot several other AK's and other SKS's as well and in every case the SKS has been FAR more accurate and just a better shooting gun in my opinion.

Why am I not suprised at the people who're responding to this thread? Maybe you can use this gun: YouTube - AA-12. World's deadliest shotgun! and hunt this chick: YouTube - Girl in bikini shooting a full auto MAC-10 and delete yourselves from the gene pool. You will then save us all the aggravation of having to deal with moronic thinking of people who want to buy assault rifles no reason whatsoever besides living in some backwoods place like Virginia, Carolina, Nebraska, or Phoenix-ish middle of nowhere.

Sad.

Moving along....these are made of win but too bad they're girls and not hicks:

YouTube - Girl Gets Hit by Recoil

YouTube - Girl Gets Owned by a Desert Eagle

You mean to tell me you actually took the time to look up all those videos on You Tube just so you could post your OPINION on MX6.com, in a thread that you have no interest in, and completely disagree with? You really have no life, do you?

Oh, and by the way, calling Phoenix "in the middle of nowhere", or using it as an insult in the way that you're thinking is pretty funny, considering Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the United States, and its in front of San Diego which ranks #8, and Im only about 350 miles from you. Nice logic though. When you gain some knowledge about the subject, and can make a post where you actually seem to know what you're talking about, then you can come back. Until then, do us all a favor and go post something useful in another thread. If you don't have any interest in this, then get the [fizzle] out.

I would love an M14. That would be a fun gun for sure. A semi-auto G3 would be sweet too.

We need stricter laws on firearm licensing/purchasing and offenses.

Guns are good kids mmmkay, and you should all buy a gun mmmkay. I just recently got my concealed carry license, and carry nearly every day. I don't think people understand that changing gun laws and making guns "harder" to get does nothing to effect gun control. People get guns illegaly now and will do it the same way they do now even if you change the gun laws. What ends up happening is you turn law abiding citizens into criminals because they are unaware of the new law or they were misinformed of the laws. If you don't like guns don't buy guns, but I want to be able to protect myself from those people who do illegaly obtain and use guns as well as any other intruders.
Also I'm not a back woods inbread retard.

Back on the thread topic though, I would vote SKS if you aren't going to go for the ar15.

Ignorance of the law is no defense, and that will hold up in court cowboy.
