I agree ignorance is no excuse, but when police officers don't know the law either it becomes a real issue. And before you jump to any bs reply on ignorant cops, they don't know those laws normaly because the gun rules civillians live by are not the same for police officers. There are many police officers here in Ohio who do not know all the rules that apply to the concealed carry license, I gathered this from a recent conversation I had with a police officer. So like I said if you want to make laws that will create criminals out of inocent people then thats your perogative. If you want to argue gun laws and you fear of guns then why don't you start a new thread instead of continuing here, unless you have an opinion on the type of rifle you would preffer, or do you have enough gun knowledge to even have an opinion?

Don't say **sd**k, it's two points.

You mean like Chris?

I couldnt agree with you more that police in Ohio aren't as educated as security guards in Az.

the SKS is a sniper rifle, not an assault rifle. i am a fan of the ar-15 cause I am a soldier and I own a personal one. if you were near here I would let you shoot mine. a real ak-47 you can get for a few hundred bucks at a gun and knife show...

The thread starter hasnt even chimed in for a while. This thread fails. A mod should just close it. Every gun thread goes sour on here, because all the right wing democrats come in that don't know well enough to leave these threads alone. The 2nd Amendment is a powerful thing. Its bigger than any of the people that feel they have to voice their opinion in here.

You know, you remind me of the idiots that I work with. You're no different from the small town trailer trash hicks that live in the town just north of where I work, which is sadly where most of my coworkers live. They all think theyre better than everyone else, but they dont know [shizzle]. They all think they know everything about everyone, but have no facts to base their opinions on. This is you all the way. You definately have a small town trailer trash mentality about you, and its pathetic.

You don't like me much, do you Damian? Thats great....you know why? Because its the [fizzle]ing internet. You just have me all figured out just by reading the things I type on here. You think I'm a "backwoods hillbilly?" You know NOTHING about me. Lets see here:

I was born and raised in Plymouth Massachusetts, south of Boston until I was 8 years old, then we moved to Cape Cod (eastern Massachusetts) until I was 16. Massachusetts is probably the LEAST redneck place in the country. I couldnt be much further from the South, where your stereotypes place me. I went to Massachusetts schools until I was in 11th grade, when I moved to Florida (not by choice) where I completed 11th and 12th grade in Florida schools. Then I moved to North Carolina for a year until I moved out here 2 years ago.

If my upbringing isnt enough to tell you that Im not a backwoods hillbilly, then how about this: I think Cowboys dress like [fizzle]ing retards. I talk with a New England accent. I hate Country music. Ive never lived in a trailer park, and never will.

In fact......I live by myself in a 1700 sq ft house, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a 2 car garage, built in 2004. I have a $20K automobile, internet, satellite, cell phone, electric, utilities, car insurance, credit cards....and get this...I pay for all of this with my HILLBILLY SECURITY GUARD JOB.... lol...thats amazing, huh? You don't know what I do for a living. You dont know what I make. You dont know what I make a year. You dont know where Im from. You dont know what my interests are. You dont know anything about me, yet you insist on calling me out every day. And you call ME the trailer trash? You're the one with the mentality...

[/thread]

This is stupid. Little [fizzle]sticks like SixSick6 will always have to ruin these types of threads. The threadstarter got what he was looking for, and this will just get closed eventually. I'm out. Later guys.

Im not a right wing democrat . Look at 1st world countries that are very very similar in culture to the United States, ie N.Z, Australia, U.K. All predomintaely white English speaking with a reasonably large proportion of immigrants. Similar laws, similar morals and ethics, similiar lots of things. Guess what im not saying to ban guns, that would be like saying ban javelin because it is dangerous, or ban baseball because people hit each other with bats. Just make it harder for your average guy to get a gun. Licencing, permits, background checks, it isnt that hard.

Massacres in the United States, at least 1 every year.
Massacres in Australia, NONE since our gun laws were changed in 1996. For someone who enjoys hunting and shooting like me it is a bitch, they are pretty heavy legislature to get around. But knowing I can go to uni without some dumb [fizzle] shooting the class up is worth it. Look at percentages of deaths with guns in the U.S. Like 60% is husband and wife because they have guns so easily accessible and in the middle of a fight it comes out. Here in Australia, you would have to go to another room, get through a metal cabinet of certain weight/strength that has a keylock not a padlock, and the bullets are in a seperate smaller cabinet. By then it isnt exactly spur of the moment. And it takes 10 minutes to do before going out on a hunting trip, it would take you longer to pack the tent or wait for the car to warm up. And to stop the guns getting into criminals hands, it is a $5000 fine if one of your guns gets "stolen"/sold to some junkie if it wasnt secured properly (they investigate the [fizzle] out of gun stuff here). Incentive to keep it locked up very well.

Just like it is a fine if you let your dog out, it is your job to keep it indoors.

The gun craze in the states is allowed to continue not because of the 2nd ammendment (laws can be easily made that would still secure guns safetly and limit availbility without breaking the ammendment) just look at the revenue that gun makers bring in. It is about money, everything is.

If you cant see both sides to an arguement Chris, you will never be able to make a decent debate about anything. Not that we havent had enough of it, I was happy to make my little comment but a discussion gets me going.

Signed

Turk, hasn't austraila had some rising crime rates since there were some gun law changes. Let me say that this is not something I have looked into, I seen it on another forum that is having its own little gun discussion right now. It was brought up about Austraila having a recent gun law change and there were some percentages thrown out there.

Don't say **sd**k, it's two points.

You are reffering to a recent discussion between me and Scooby I believe. If you wikipedia those comments and statisitcs he made, and look at where they come from(for one, they are from Wikipedia ). Australian shooters association . Any indepedent (university) studies all show that the gun laws were nothing but positive. And if you actually read the legislation, it does not ban guns, just does everything possible to keep them out of the wrong hands.

Even doing this doesnt prevent crime, poverty makes crime. it just removes the guns that these criminals (who would exist as long as there is something to steal/sell) can get there hands on and saves lives. It is hard to rob a place without a weapon. You could rob a bank pretty easy with a tank, harder with a knife = detterent to the crime. And the main point I also argue is that most murders arent home invasions or robberies, it is family. No one can forget this.

This isnt the 17th century, England is not going to come pillage your homes and demand taxes. The govt is not out to get you, and if they were, you are free to move. I can understand the need for self protection in Zimbabwe or something, but in a 1st world country, guns do more harm then good.
