Exclamation 3G iPhone just announced!

Steve Jobs just announced the new 3G iPhone at the WWDC.

Here are the highlights:
- 3G Data (HSDPA, much faster than the 2G iPhone with Edge data)
- true GPS
- Application store with some really cool games and apps
- new MobileMe online services allow for online sync of email, contacts, calendar, etc. with PC or Mac (Outlook supported, bye bye MS Exchange)
- Push email and SMS (SMS notification without SMS app running)
- MUCH improved battery life

and the biggest news of all

- $199 for the 8GB model, $299 for the 16GB at AT&T stores July 11

And I hear it's actually being released and sold in Canada. I played with my friends unlocked one for a bit, it's definately a cool toy, but I don't use a lot of features on my phone so I'm not sure if I'd need all the cool stuff.

I just bought the Ipod Touch 8g for $220. I thought about getting the Iphone but I'd just rather use my phone as a phone only.

Think I'm with you on this one! I bought my 2G last year and love it to death. If the plan attached to it in Canada is half decent, I might consider the upgrade!

Monthly fees on the 3G are more than the EDGE . I could afford the $60/mo price tag the original had on it, but $75/mo for the same service is steep.

I think it's a bit asinine that the touch is $30 more expensive than the iphone. You'd think that the price on the touch would drop drastically as well.
