Looking for a special cable HDMI DVI but there is a catch!

So I have a HDMI to DVI cable yay it works fine of course but I am looking for HDMI to DVI /Audio where the cable splits them out.

Something like this

HDMI to DVI Audio Adapter

but not a box unit doesnt have to be optical.

Maybe you can find it in there some where. I was looking at that place most of today and there are all kinds of converter cables and what not in there. I just ordered everything to make my PSP gold!

Because I dont want a box and rather have a thick cable I can hide. I got a Dell 2707 which has vga dvi and component. I was going to run HDMI out to the monitor via DVI and then have audio go out. Only audio I can find has optical, so I would need to buy another reciever.... unless there are powered home speakers that will take optical in. Which is why I was hoping it would be like 5.1 out non optical.

the problem is that the converter box is having to do some processing to the signal to change the audio form factor. You're not going to find a cable to do that.

So you're sending HDMI video from a video source (like a satellite receiver, cable box, dvd player, whatever) through an HDMI to DVI cable to the DVI input on your new monitor? Where are you trying to send the sound? You should be able to send the audio source separate of the HDMI to another output on your video source and then to the appropriate input on your surround sound. You would select a different audio output in an audio menu on the video device.

Not sure if you can do that or not.

/\ Thats the way I have mine setup at home. 7.1 Cable to my receiver, and HDMI to DVI to the Widescreen.

Its just 2 cables instead of 1. But I am able to have my PC at 7.1 SS with full HDMI on 42 inches of Blu-Ray. I love it.
