Another new toy??

I seem to only post here when I get a new toy.. but here it is.

1987 Four Winns 190 Horizon 19' Bowrider. It's got the Mercruiser 4.3L V6, and Mercruiser Alpha 1 Outdrive. It also has a full width teak swim platform out back. I have to put the motor in, but that should be all it needs to get put on the water. It's got tons of new accessories for the motor (alt, starter, water pump, power steering pump, timing chain, cam, new prop on the outdrive), and the trailer has brand new tires and winch. I bought it as a project, but its coming together much more quickly than expected. I hope to have it on the water this season. The seats cleaned up real nice, but have a few tears/cracks (its 21 yrs old... kind of expected). This winter I'm going to redo the floors and carpets, refinish all the teak onboard and who knows what else.

Anyway... pics.

That looks like a decent boat. I'm guessing you picked it up dirt cheap because of all the work it needs? What was wrong with the engine that was in there before?

On a sidenote, I would suggest putting new seals in the outdrive if they haven't been done yet.

Currently have two 1988 MX-6 GT 5 speeds, both white, one stock, one not. Also have a big ass Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 Diesel for fun.

Probably, but then I'd have to find a marine starter/alternator, flywheel that will accept the hub for the outdrive... too much work for a less powerful engine .

900$ with the trailer. It actually doesn't need a lot of work at all, just the motor to be put in. I'm voluntarily replacing the floors, because they MAY be rotted. I'm replacing the carpet, so why not do it all. -- And yes, i'll be replacing all the seals. I'm going to be ordering all the shop manuals in a few days

Oh, I've thought about it. But then I remember gas prices... and the fact that most inboard/outboard boats get 4mpg or less... and adding a turbo, rocking a constant boost, would severely degrade that. Who knows though.. when you're getting 4mpg, what the hells the difference anyway, right?
