ONEPOC Charity Event for Joe Pierce from PT :)

Hi everyone! (can a mod please sticky this?)

ONPOC would like to invite you to our ONEPOC Weekend. This weekend long event is organized to raise funds for a great member of the ProbeTalk.com community, Joseph Pierce. In February 2008 he was in a very bad car accident that left in a coma for a few months and kept him away from his family and his beloved son. We are so happy to have learned that Joe was lucky enough to live after the crash.
As we all know, medical bills in the U.S. can get pretty high and without being able to work, Joe can't make money to pay for his bills or meds or just his regular bills every month. We, here at ONPOC, were really touched by what happened to Joe. Some of us have been around 6+ years around the Probe/PT community so we do know Joe, even if it's just from his posts. We feel that there's gotta be something we can do to help. The PT community has always been known as beeing our "other family". Members are incredibly helpful and will easily go out of their way to lend a hand to a fellow Probe-er.
We think it's time for all of us to come together and help a member that could use all the help in the world.

That being said, we decided to organize an event called ONEPOC in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We are hoping to have some support from the POCs in the area, that way it's like the POCs are coming together as a single POC for Joe.

The event will be taking place August 22-24. There will be a ONEPOC Dance to raise money and a ONEPOC Show and Shine the next day. Here's what the schedule looks like for the Friday, August 22, Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24:

Friday - August 22 - 6pm - 12am - Meet & Greet at Hooters + hotel check-in in Hamilton, ON

Saturday - August 23 - 11am - 5pm - Cruise to Niagara Falls, ON (~45 mins drive i believe): we can go for lunch there, see the Falls, see some other attractions, casino etc
- 8pm - 12am - ONEPOC Dance @ Mooselodge in Hamilton, ON: tickets are $15 each of $25 for couples; there will be a very funny local stand up comic, give-aways, prizes, goodie-bags, donation box etc.

Sunday - August 24 - ONEPOC Show & Shine - registration $15/car or $10/car if there's 5 or more cars from the same POC
- 10am - 11am - Roll in (***ONPOC shows up at 9am to setup***)
- 11am - 3pm Show & Shine + Judging
- 3pm - 3:30/4pm - Awards Ceremony

ONEPOC Dance

The ticket sales for the dance is basically where most of the money for Joe will come from, aside from the donation box that will be set up at the Dance and the Show&Shine. We have 240 tickets. We would like to try and pre-sell as many as possible, so we know people are commited to coming to the event. If we cant sell enough tickets we'll have to cancel the dance, which we really dont want to do. We have a lot of things planned for the Dance and this night can really make a difference in Joe's life with all the money that we can raise for him.

ONEPOC Show & Shine

The only reason there's a registration fee is again to raise money for Joe. Now, the ONEPOC Show & Shine will be held at Hutch's in Hamilton, ON. It's a local restaurant on the beach. We will be using two of their parking lots. One for the Probe/MX-6/MX-3s and one for ANY other car. So basically there will be two shows going on at once in two parking lots next to eachother. One show for the KL cars and one for all other modified cars. There will be different classes and different trophies for each "show"... as in the KLs will have their own classes competing in and the other cars will have their own as well but more general. There will be a dj spinning at the Show all day and there will also be a special appearance by a fellow mx-6 owner from mx6.com, Matt (msequence), who will be spinning as well.

We are still working to see how many vendors are interested in setting up a booth at the S&S so if PRD, MBX or PA is reading this and want to be involved in helping Joe out, please feel free to post in here to PM me.

All the locations (hotel, dance and s&s are within 5-10 mins awya from eachother. We planned it so that everything is around in case some people mayhave to walk as opposed to drive lol. When we all meet up friday at Hooters we will give u direction on how to get to each place on saturday and saunday, as well as a coin operated car wash in the area where people can wash their cars sunday morning before the show.

Now in order for us to have a successfull event, we need to know who is coming for sure, who is going to help setup the show and the dance, show is going to enter their car in the show, etc. Basically we need to know who is at least coming Sunday to show their car.
Also if u need any tickets for the dance, let me know we'll get them out to u right away.
The hotel we'll be staying at is the Holiday Inn and when we book at least 10 rooms we get a better rate and we get the banquet hall for free so we could all have dinner after the show sunday before everyone heads back home. We will post directions on how to get to Hamilton, ON wether u're coming from Canada or the States.

Im sure i missed some details so please feel free to add or ask ANY questions related to this event and we'll try and get u answers right away.

Thank so much for reading and please post if u;re attending and when (which days) u're coming
