weirdest things i've ate that i remember was possum, bat, and some worm that's found in tequila plants, tastes like a french fry when you toast it on open fire.
btw i didn't know what i ate was possum at the time, i thought it was pork cause that's how it tasted lmao.
That stuff they ate on fear factor where the chick in the egg is still there and it's kinda yellow. K found it, it's called balut. balut - Google Image Search
I never had the chick part, only the white and yellow part.
It's actually pretty good to me. It's a delicacy in Philippine.

Wow, I really wish I didn't click on that images link
My dad told me about how some asian guy at his work would always bring boiled eggs to eat at work. One day, he unexpectedly found a 'balut,' was overcome with glee and swallowed it in one gulp. Gross.
Balut was a common snack at my ex g/f's house (she was filipino). I didn't eat it, but her family did all the time. It was gross. I would hear them slurping the chick out and i'd be like ::barf::

Some of the foods you guys mention are like normal fish and chips type stuff.
Ive had Kangaroo and I can bet most people in Australia have as well. It used to be in the odd resturant but now you can buy it from the supermarket. Kangaroo sausages as well, kanga bangas! . Roo meat is pretty good.
You think it is crazy to eat the baby chicks, when I was back home you should of seen how shocked my relatives were to learn that people in Australia eat pig. They were like ohh how do they do it thats crazy etc . Different strokes for different folks.
I think the oddest thing Ive eaten was Ostrich, which doesnt seem all that after reading some of these posts....
Im going to ask my wife about Balut tonight, I hope she says she doesnt like it... but if she does, Im going to make sure she never introduces it to our son

i used to eat that all the time. it's not that bad. there's the "penoy" which didnt have the chick yet, but the one with the chick was pretty nasty with the feathers all formed and stuff.
i grew up in a very multi-cultural city in the philippines and i ate stuff like "isaw" (chicken intestines), chicken feet, cheese flavored ice cream, ive had ant eggs, some egg rolls that they didnt mention what was in it, and century egg, "dinuguan" pork cooked in pig's blood, and lots of other things. balut was the least of my concerns.
