I'll be flying down on November 3rd and likely staying until late Saturday. Going with a group, but if anyone from here is headed down, I have no problems meeting up for a drink or many.

Sweet! Glad to see a good number of members (I expected zero) who are going/will be in the area! I'm more excited now, a lot more than last year when I left last minute to go to SEMA.
I'm planning to stay at Encore, a Wynn property. Prices seem fair right now, so might be worth it. But outside the hotel, evenings are likely to include going to Pure or some nightclub where I can stupidly burn money on bottle service and then probably the rest of the time at Hard Rock and little pubs, outside of potential industry hookup parties. Speaking of which, anyone know of anything cool this year? I'm going to talk to some people at VW and see what the plan is, but last year we got invites to the Gran Turismo Awards which I missed because of my flight, but from what I heard was awesome...
Where are all you guys staying?

Actually, so did I. From what I have been reading online though, because of the economic downturn, they have lowered their prices significantly, which has put them right within my budget. At about $600 US to fly down and stay for 5 days, I'm a happy camper! Check it out if your looking for a place to stay still.

So I've been trying to plan a week-long vacation with my girl for the past month now, and I mentioned the possibility of going down for SEMA -- and she is considering it!!! I definitely didn't expect her to want to check out a car show.
I was told that the hotel prices will skyrocket due to the event. Any ideas of where to go for cheap accomodations?
1997 Mazda MX-6 LS KLZE
Teaching english in Jeonju, S.Korea for now...damn I miss my MX-6
^^^ standard room for 5 days, 2 guest at the Las Vegas Plaza on Fremont St, is like $226.
Plus, IMHO Fremont street is where it's at in Vegas! We go down there once a year, and if we stay on the strip, we usually end up on Fremont st!
It's a ways away from the Convention center, but it's worth it! We're stayin at the Plaza while we're there!
Plus, this is pretty cool to see no matter how many times you've seen it!
94 mx6 ls... parked... still

You getting tickets for it? Check that out first. Tickets are private and only available to those registered with SEMA. Look into it more. If your coming down though, let the gong show begin!
I'll be staying at Encore so I can walk to SEMA.
