Grin New to 323 Forum. Rally 323 w Pics.

Hey all I`m Max, new 323 member. Got this 323 for FREE! The guy said motor was shot but turned out to be altenator and starter. It`s a 1989 1.6 sohc 323 2 Door Hatch 4 Speed MANUAL with 106,000 original miles. Very rusty car with lots of engine life left, good for only one thing... Dirt! Custom exhaust, Intake and lousy plug and wire upgrade so far. More mods coming. This is my toy, i drive my truck when i`m not rippin around in this. Very fun car and suprisingly fast. Funny pics enjoy. Peace.

Why don't you drop a KL motor in that thing? Then it will be fast How bad is the rust? Wisconsin winter bad?

Edit: Ouch, I took a closer look at the pics and that rust is pretty bad. Are you good at bodywork?

Ha it`s bad underneath. Lots of obvious exposure to road salt. A KL would be crazy! Has anyone one done that? I maxed it out at 110 MPH with 3 other full grown men in the car. lol

I think i`m going to leave it the way it is except for some off road gear. im going to put on 14 inch wheel/dirt tires, off road lights, rear mounted 2,000 lb. winch and a buddy of mine said he could buid a custom brushgaurd/light bar for me if i really wanted one.

Oh yeah Whats the crime like in Milwaukee. I heard it on the Top 5 list in country.

Crime isn't bad here, it's mostly downtown/northside that has problems. There have been quite a few people that swap KL's into 323's. Try to have fun with that car. Perhaps you can find a clean 323 and make it a sleeper.

Damn i just read your sig and noticed your supercharged! That is bad ass, i never seen one supercharged before. you gotta post some videos on here sometime.

Lol sounds like you need a 323! you can find ones like mine for under $900 i hope to buy another one someday maybe a 2nd gen MX6 but i like how small the 323 is.

Do you happen to know if Contour SVT duratec 2.5 liter engine parts will work with the 2nd Gen MX6`s KL 2.5 V6...?

Thanks again "D" for the interest in my 323. I wanna see some pics of your car now...

Yeah the KL conversion has been done...but yeah I wouldnt waste time doing that to the rust bucket...maybe a cheap skate turbo conversion is the thing....
unfortunately there werent too many cars in the world that had the 8v SOHC head and a turbo, but if it had a 16v head....might be easier. Sounds like your having fun as is.
110MPH..impressive..I know what those thing go like stock and I ran out of road before I could get to 100 (160Kph for the locals to where I am from)
