Sunroof Seal / Weatherstrip

My sunroof seal (aka weatherstrip) is buggerd and i need a new one, and i was wondering if anyone knows if the MX6 sunroof seal will fit , as i can get one from Hughes for cheap cheap. My local Mazda dealer wants $300 for a seal.

If anyone has any experience / knowledge / suggestions it would be much appreciated.

I don't know the answer to that.... but there is a difference in how the sunroofs slide..

On the 626, it goes inside the roof, and on the mx6, it slides externally.

Also, they don't actually seal the join.. water runs inside, and down the drain tubes..

Yeah.. you need a new one by the looks of it...

The glass sunroof weatherseal is not listed in the EPC, but the steel one is:

Probably much easier to replace the sunroof with a second user one..

ja. i imagine a wrecker is going to charge me an arm and a leg as well, given that they know mazda will charge me an arm, a leg and a kidney.

It just annoys me that you cant just get the seal , you have to get the glass AND seal

I wouldn't like to say how successful this could be but.....

if you can remove the seall from the glass, and clean it all up.
Then warm the seal so it is nice and flexible, then glue it back on the glass, and hope that it goes on nice and flat..

Just an idea.. (a cheap one at that)
