Also liked the 9 second car he ran against..looks/sounded like a monster too..love the muscle cars!! By the way(and sorry if I sound ignorant--probably cause I am he! he!) it doesn't seem like there are any gear shifts, is it just that quick that they are not noticeable or something else?
Thats darn fast, but for the power he is making I'm not exactly blown away... Lots of supra's making less HP run similar times
Oh, you probably didn't hear or see shifting becuase it is an auto... Almost all of the REALLY fast cars have auto's, they shift much quicker than their manual counterparts.
That's a rather impressive launch, considering the small size of the slicks.

I think they're referring to how the engine noise never changes pitch. At least that was what I was noticing when I decided something's weird about the transmission.
Undoubtedly, the turbo's huge and flowing several buttloads of air, so it will be both very loud and also lower in pitch than normal, but it still would be noticably different than a 3.0l i6 at high rpm.
It's a powerglide tranny.

Last night I dreamed I was a muffler... needless to say I woke up exhausted.
Autoglide Tranny? Care to divulge? Cause I didn't seem to hear it change pitch either...
and that first one with the turbo howling...wow....

This is a guy Marko here in Illinois, this car is daily driven and I've seen it run. It's definately no joke. Here's the dyno vid in case you were wondering, 1520HP. This was a very recent dyno run, squeezing almost 30 more hp out of it.
Love the sound though...that gave me that special feeling way down deep in my .....
