FAREWELL MXDE Final 0-60 run

well this coming week is the ZE swap.

i've installed interprep springs and replaced the regular maintenance parts...she's ready to go.

so i took the DE out for a spin and took a couple vids of the 0-60 on some back roads near my house

the car -94 mx6 ls
mods that matter - CAI, Pacesetter headers, 15lb flywheel, test pipe, 2.5" crush bent exhaust, misc weight redux (car = 2400lbs with me 2600...yes its been weighed), NO bored tb....its on the ZE right now

yes its loud...its got an empty trunk and i had the rear seats down so...ya

will post a follow up with the ZE in the same car

6.4-5 sec 0-60 on an old tired DE is fairly decent i'd say

jesus that looked quick, faster than my 6.8 0-60 anyway. That flywheel makes a big difference to shifting as well. Nice work mate, roll on the ZE!

thanks windy.

shifting could have been a bit more crisp...hard to do that while holding a stupid camera

the car will hopefully be almost 100 lbs lighter when the ze is fully in. The ze will also have the 9lb flywheel and allow for more revs (as you can see i don't have any top end left) along with a 67mm tb

It dips Jordan! Hopefully the ZE that you swap in is legit.

thanks mike...

when i was putting in the valve springs the back three cylinders didn't leak air at all (one did but there was some crud that was preventing one of the intake valves to seat proper which i cleaned up.

the front bank...two were pretty good with on that leaded a fair bit (under air pressure to hold the valves up while doing the springs/retainers/valve seals)

when i get the motor in i'll do a legit compression check

all the parts are there tho...kl31 cams kl311a1/101 heads etc
