blast from the past!

oh man i'm still on the MAPOC mailing list LOL! anyway i'm actually considering going to this meet. I think i was at the one in '03? it's been awhile and i do miss the Probe sometimes. anyway the point of my post is to see if anybody wants a shop/service manual for a '95 Probe that's been collecting dust in my basement for god knows how long. also have a Haynes repair manual for 2G Probes/MX-6. Free of charge obviously to whoever wants it.. i figured if i bring it to the meet, somebody will take it. do you guys still get a decent turnout?

Wow Kwok, long time no speak! I just let Todd borrow a couple of your old SE rims to bring his new MX6 home from NH!

As far as turn-out goes, it's hard to say. Sometimes a lot, sometimes not. As years go on, numbers dwindle of course. But we only set these things up because of those we know are going, the rest are just "bonus" people.

Offering up the manual's a good thing. I'm sure someone will want it, if not, I'll take it as I lost my Haynes years ago. I hear Haynes are good for pictures that my OE factory service manual is lacking.

When I saw Alex mention getting Hank in on this, I was thinking about sending Bryan an e-mail about the meet to see if he wanted to go too. I don't think I've seen him since he moved to south-west CT. I'm going to shoot him an e-mail now to see if he can chime into the thread.

Bryan responded to my e-mail already. He said he's gonna put it in his calendar and if he gets something with better fuel economy, he'll try and make it up. I offered to give him a ride if he can make it to my area, that'll at least shave 100 miles off his trip from CT.

Rear VCG is just a 10 minute job once you've got the IM off.

IM swap is pretty easy, but you should go through all the vacuum lines while you're in there to make sure none are cracked or brittle.

Headers are a longer job. But while you have the IM off, you might as well do those because it can be sometimes easier to torque the rear primary studs from above instead of below and you can get at them easier with the IM off.

Mod meets are a little tough for me this month. We might be able to squeeze one in in two weekends though.

You'll need some 7/64" (or 1/8" if you can find it) vac line, a utility knife, and a fresh tube of RTV... plus, of course, the rear VCG at a minimum if not also some IM gaskets (can probably re-use the old ones with some RTV if you want though).
