safety, the one thing i never expected was that he told me to take my <3 JDM license plate frame. It was blocking the spirit of america. Idk how i got it though.

I was a bit paranoid about getting it as you could tell...I've always thought my cars weren't good enough for inspection.

Safety's the simplest one to get and, IMO, should never be bought for the safety of yourself as well as the safety of everyone else on the road.

What makes you think your car didn't deserve a safety inspection? Lights out, tie rods bad, ball joints bad?

like i said my frame rails are rusted and bend in if tried to be jacked up. My flex pipe was rusted through and leaks apparently. All worked out well and now get to keep my car despite me going to college. And get to sell at a higher price

My 1g frame rails are very rusted as well. I was worried about it the first year, now it's been 4 and they've never had a problem jacking it up.

You'd be surprised how thick they are.

thats good to hear, or not good to hear about the rust but better to hear about the whole longetivity of the frame rails being rusted.

So i am not alone with the whole frame rail rust. That makes me happy.

Yeah, I bought my 1g around 4 years ago now. Brought it to a friend to have an alignment done and he specifically mentioned how bad the rust is and that it might not last too long. That was at 89k original miles.

Now I'm at 154k, inspected last fall at around 148k and no issues yet. I don't jack it up though by those frame rails. Figure why add to it's weakening.

The car has a lot of rust underneith (ie: I replaced both rear brake lines, and the fuel filler neck), but surprisingly little on it's body.. in fact, all I can think of is on the hood where some stone chips have broken some paint away. Otherwise it's rust free.

My body has some rust. But last weekend I got a lot of motivation and just killed all of it pretty much.

The rail type thing underneath the doors, passenger side had 3 main rust spots. So i spent over 3 days and 1 1/2 cans of bondo to fix that up. Also on the wheel well there was a small portion but i took care of that except. i couldn't find my body color at autozone or vip or mazda dealership so the color is almost silverish and my car is bronzish.
