How much you looking to spend? I am letting it all go for the right price. Also dont go by the price in the craigslist ad. The crap listed above is from my craigslist post. I am not sure if I want to complete the swap. The motor has all new gaskets(other then head), just needs new timing components. One of the injector O-Rings was cracked so It needs new ones. But everything is cleaned up. I even have the tranny I bought off you

To be honest, straight neck ZEs can be had on the net for $875 shipped. As far as gaskets go, can you narrow it down? Other than HG, all I can think of are the following...
  • Valve Covers
  • Intake Manifold
  • Throttle body
  • Thermostat

Those are very minor to have been changed before I get an engine and, for that matter, I have some of those already sitting brand new in my garage.

If you haven't started the engine yet yourself, where did you get it from and has it ever been started by a previous owner? How do you know that injector O-Ring is/was split?

like i said don't pay attention to the ad on craigslist, i know they can be had for cheap. I start very high on CL because everyone that ever responds low balls so bad. Like on that add some guy with a mx3 responded and offered me 400 for everything I have.

Anyways, new valve cover gaskets including grommets for the bolts, TB gasket, Intake Manifold, Thermostat, cam seal end caps, Dizzy O-Ring, oil filter housing, oil pick up, Oil pan has new RTV, and Rear Main. New PCV, new vacuum lines, I didn't start it yet. I got it from JDM Engine Zone. They sent along compression numbers and leak down results. All seemed to be good I should have those still with all the other paper work I have from all my purchases for the swap. The O-ring was split when I took the injectors and rails out to have them cleaned locally and also painted the fuel rails. I'm guessing because like every other piece of rubber on this motor it dry rotted.

Okay, I'll keep that setup in mind. Right now I have someone locally with an entire wrecked car with a ZE minus the IM for $400 which I'm looking to pick up. If that falls through, I'll be in touch.

I remember your engine was in rough shape last time you stopped by my place. It was hit since then? I can understand that hurting the inspiration. I would want to pick up a new/better condition shell to do the project on.

Yea it was hit August 1st, not too long from the time I was last down at your place.

Here are pics and yes, they are the same pretty much. Old one was a 00 LX 1.6 and the new one is a 00 ES 1.8 Besides the engine the interior has better seats and that's about it for differences. New one has a perfectly fine motor and is fairly cheap to boost, so I may do that. Have not been able to decide.

Wow, that's pretty crazy. Hope you or any passengers weren't hurt too bad.

The new car looks good though, did insurance pay for it? Why not complete your swap in that now?

No one was hurt which is hard to believe considering my g/f was in the pass. seat. Insurance didn't pay for it, because i had liability only and the crash was blamed on a faulty traffic light or something like that.

I wouldn't mind doing the swap to the new car, its just winter is coming, i would rather sell the motor I have now for a decent price to pay off my cards and then buy another come spring if I decide to still do the swap.

You'll take a loss on the stuff though selling it now and have to pay the same as you did last time for them in the spring. I don't know what your interest rate is like, but I'd let the balances float and keep the parts.

I'd offer up my place to do your swap (though I'm not very close), but my gf's car needs an engine and another friend I already promised to pull his engine to replace a piston.
