It looks like a number of user accounts were compromised by Jon's phishing scam webpage. Jon set up a fake mx6.com website that asked for your username and password. A number of members (including a moderator) input their account information. Jon then posted his findings publicly.
If this wasn't bad enough, a couple of members contacted us and stated that the posted passwords coincided with other online accounts they hold (including online banking). I want to reassure everyone that this was a phishing scam. No one hacked or broke into our server. Jon simply tricked a number of people into giving him their passwords. MX6.com take security issues very seriously. While we look into this issue, Jon will be banned from the site. |
