I agree with Piers on the set up. The cars react extremely well with the camber settings in the front adjusted to 3 degrees or so. Also running around 2 degrees in the rear really helps but will largely depend on the amount of sway you have set up back there.

I could say more but most of its been covered already here. All I can say is these cars make great autocross cars!

Good to know! We've been pretty impressed so far. After we picked it up in Ft. Wayne, we lined up at a red light, and my husband had no problem keeping up with me (his '6 against my miata) which I found really impressive considering he was on bald tires and I was on BFG-G-Force z-rated tires and a whole bunch of performance mods. The handling is just unbelievable and its torquey as heck! We are so glad we bought it and I think we got a good deal on it (only paying 2K for a fairly clean, good running car.) Can anyone recommend anything for the exhaust? It doesn't even have a cat on it now....

Just look for the purple streak.... that's me!

I've always liked the sound of a Borla Catback or a custom exhaust with a Greddy. The former you can find on the internet. Th latter would have to be made by a local exhaust shop. If you do that, go with 2.25-2.5" piping and mandrel bending with stainless steel.

Greddy has a nice sound, you can more than likely just source the tip/muffler from ebay or wherever you shop online, and then take it to an exhaust shop to have them bend a 2.5in pipe for you. shouldn't be too expensive. I think i payed a friend of mine $90 to bend an exhaust for me and weld up the muffler and he did a pretty good job.

I love the sound of my Magnaflow with full 2.5" cat back and header. Sounds great...nice and deep but screams at wide open.

That's the thing, neither of us are big "import" people... (actually I grew up a chevy girl and here I am driving a LINCOLN and a MAZDA which of course, both are owned by Ford).... anyway, the last thing we want is an i"mport" "buzzing" around! And yes, I know it really is an import, but you get the idea!

as ragin hinted at earlier.. weight reduction goes a LONG way.

as you know from your miata - a lot of it's prowess comes from the fact that it is so light.

The mx6 isn't a heavyweight.. its fairly light too, but was also comparitively "loaded" - there's a good amount of weight to be removed from the 6 - but it all depends on the car's intentions.. if you're going to use it as a daily driver, you'll want to leave certain things on, obviously.

Your so right, which is why I wish I hadn't spent so much on the MOLDED body kit before I got into racing.

But I love the way it looks, so I'm not willing to tear it off. The car unfortunately also has alot of... (girl moment)... um... I can't think of what its called but its the heavy [shizzle] you put in a strunk to help it seal better for stereo systems.... hmmm.... not diamond plate.... I dunno. But I need to tear that out too, whatever it is!

The 2.5L is renowned for its uniquely deep, performance like tone. Its not quite a muscle car, but its not a raspy car either. Its hard to explain, but once you put an exhaust on the car, you'll understand why they are so revered for their exhaust tones.
