This upcoming season I'm going to run on kumho victoracers that a fellow car club member gave me, for nothing. What I meant was, compared to camaro tires, '6 tires are a little more affordable. What kind of tires did you get for $1,200 that seems like a lot unless the rims were included.

Hey whats up Scott Welcome to the Mx6 club. Have you done anything to the car yet. Or are you going to leave it as is. Does it have headers or anything on it ?

Or always check eBay for it? Since it's probably the original one, you could possibly find it online, or at a Mazda Dealership... But I'd check the junkyard first.

Been looking when ever I'm at the yards no luck yet. I went to the dealer and they said my car didnt have locking lugs as an option and that the locks are VIN specific. The car was completely stock and very original when I bought it so I assumed the locks were as well but I'm thinking the lugs might be from another car.

One of my buds is getting into Autocross as well. He's been in Houston for school, and I talked to him recently. He wants to Autocross too, and he's looking at getting a miata to Autocross.

I'm looking at my first AutoX event on the 11th of May. I'm going by the Texas SPOKES Sports Car Club schedule. I'll want to find something sooner than that. I can't wait; I gotta AutoX now !

That is exciting! Miatas are a ton of fun to autocross, but then again, I haven't yet compared it to the '6, which will primarily be Scotty's autox car. However, there is a test and tune on May 18th and I'm hoping to take a few runs on it. Myautoevents.com is a great site to find autox events in your area. You can do a search for autocross events within your zip code and what not. You may have to travel to the next region, but it would be worth it if you can get to one a month or so sooner. I have a buddy in Washington and he's already had 3 autoxes this year, so it surprises me that in Texas, May is the first one. Keep looking and keep us posted!

You could try to sell 'em on ebay. We live close to the tirerack, and for competition tires, they generally have the best prices, but when you figure in shipping (which may be in your case) it may not be as good.

not much yet. after using the tax return money 2 buy the car @ an awsome price. i had little left to play with. so i got an intake, got the xhaust fixed (no cat, 2.5 custom bent pipes shizzle can) its not the greatest but it was cheap, sealed and i didnt get dizzy from fumes nemore. i was xcited when i got on ebay & found stuff so cheap. i also bought strut tower bars f/r. i felt a big diff even on snow tires (yes snow tires in late may thats indiana). i want 2 fix things b4 i start on more mods. but i do have big plans. but i don want 2 just start bolting things on.

Sweet! I did finaly get the locks off saturday and finished the brakes today.

The 19mm 12 point socket did the trick. Thanks everyone for all the advice.

And since the mx is now streetable I went and found a new toy. I just cant live without a car that will likely leave me stranded so I bought a 1990 Pontiac Firebird Trans am GTA WS6. <a mouth full right lol.

The good: It's absoultely loaded with every option except T tops. It's even a rare color, brilliant red metalic.

The bad: Only has 1st and 2nd and is very hard to start and keep running at first and when it's finaly running it has an unsteady idle.

I only mention it because I intend to AX it too.

Lol I'm a glutton for punishment. It's got plenty of potential though. It's got the 350 235 HP 340 TQ. With just 2 gears it flies and has insane torque compared to any car I have ever owned. I got it sidways twice during the test drive lol.

It runs much better now. I think it just has a bad fuel pump relay. I also checked the trans fluid and it was low. I toped it up and it engages in drive now. I dont know if it shifts to 3rd or 4th yet since its blocked by the truck now but I have high hopes.

And considering what its replacing...[QUOTEOriginaly posted by Tem]oh and that buick made me cry a bit.[/quote]... Im happy.
