Thats a pretty narrow minded attitude. Would an Evo run 12.8 if you just "slaped a huge turbo on"? No it would require tuning to work and for the more conventional Evo thats simpler than it is on the MS6.

Just because the 6 lacks the bolt on aftermarket support of other cars dosnt mean it lacks potential.

Quarter mile [shizzle] doesn't interest me at all pretty much. It's a tool to measure the car that you have modified to see how fast it goes after you are happy with it.

I would question the potential of a car based on two things :

How much hp the engine can make and still last well
How much abuse the gearbox can take and still last well

I suspect that :

The engine is a modern one that is not as strong in the bottom end etc as older equipment
The box is typically mazda and will die at a moments notice or by having a pucked disk waved at it ;-)

Having said that, how much power etc do you need to enjoy your car? My standard is :

100hp per 1000kg, disk brakes on all four corners, 2 camshafts per bank of cylinders, >= 15" wheels, EFI, RWD MANUAL.

Beyond that is a bonus :-)

EVO's will run 13.0 with zero mods.

Last edited by fredio54 : 4-29-08 at 5:30. Reason: add rwd in AND manual!! (which [fizzle]ing goes without saying...)

Zero to 100 mph: 14.4 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 14.2 sec @ 98 mph
Top speed (redline limited): 155 mph

Dont think so. And the new ones slightly slower.

The best times I have seen for the last evo were mid or low 13's but not a flat 13.

Figuring out speed limits in Quebec:
(cornering) The speed at wich your car will break traction and leave the road -1 km/h .(staight line) In the highest gear, when the car is red lined .
Those who do not respect these "SPEED LIMITS" should keep of the roads of QUEBEC.

Must spread carnage!

Yeah, I think the one my mate had was an EVO6? Later shape thing.

Yes, boosted, and boosted hard for a factory car. Plus, 1/4 mile = traction ET = power. 1/4 is more easily done well with 4wd.

Fred.

My back wheels turn, like alot of Aussie mx-6's, but not in the way you are thinking mate. Side to side .

My mums car fits that criteria, and it is by no means fun Fred. You should add rwd to that list, I know you hate front drivers Fred, well maybe tolerate your girls Levin.
