Well i have done so far a 13.4 with the custom intake (SRI) air flo meter housing and filter and a 3"exhaust turbo back. With a 1.71 60Ft. which is the fastest recorded 60ft of ANY speed6. Now that i have the intercooler and i will be replacing my clutch with a better racing clutch also i will be getting a real CAI and i also will be getting tuned. i will almost promise you that i will go 1.6 60's and very loowww 13's if not a high 12 on a stock turbo.

I'll believe it, however I just don't see the potential to go any faster really... 5-6 years ago it was normal for aftermarket to come so slowly for a car, these days with the shops and companies out there I dont see this car hanging with the evo's or the like anytime soon..

Actually the motor has potential, tuning is what limited it.

^ yea I've looking into getting a newly used MS6 and from what I've read the tuning of the Direct injection is what's holding it back. First was the heatsoak of the IC but I think they've(aftermarket) have figured that out. I hope by the time I get(if) that's figured out aswell

Are you kiding me??? they have almost everything you could want for the car. I do agree that the ability to tune the car is outdated but as far as boltons you name it they have it from suspension to manifolds, engine parts, turbos to EMS's. So what is that you want that they done have for the car?

Heres the video of my doing the 13.4 with a 1.71 60 ft. Sorry you can't see the last "1" on the board for the 1.71 though. but you do see the 1.7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITUb4JRJDes&NR=1

heres another video my first pass that day with 1.80 60ft @13.79

Tuning would be the only thing, they can't figure out how to get more fuel in that thing properly. Last time I heard someone blow it up at 25psi cause it was running lean.

Actually that was just this one guy that did that a couple of years ago. But that was before they had the high pressure fuel pump that they have now and also a few other fueling upgrades. There is a speed3 on one of the mazda forums that got 342hp and 329 tq on a gt3071. there is a guy now that has gotten a gt35 turbo on his speed6!!

well considering they are what, low 14 second cars to start off??
and there was no tuning involved? I'd be happy with it

GT30 costs like 1200-1300.... plus a few other goodies

To put perspective. In order for my 2.5L V6 to go from a 15.8 to a 14.5 is a lot more money than just "slapping in a huge turbo" that costs 1300 buck. IE: ZE = 1000 shipped alone which would put me in high 14s if i can drive (which i can't lol) but then CAI, exaust, headers which is another what... 800 bucks (estimate) depending on what you buy or if you build stuff yourself.

So Big huge turbo in a MS6 PLUS a tune?? ya ill take it Additionally, it much harder to go from a quick speed to a fast speed, than it is to go from slow to quick.

My worry would be...can the AWD drivetrain take the torque on those launches when you get the higher numbers. AFAIK, the diffs aren't very beaffy are they?

And im not knocking you, i know you know your stuff, im just voicing my opinon. The GT30 will be good for more power down the road, no?
